Hi Ed,

Good luck with the 8w VL. The ''Riba rage'' is well known and most of us suffer it to some degree. You'll be doing 48 weeks so live a day at a time. Life should get easier after you finish the Incivek.

As others have said, have a moan or rant here on the Forum. I certainly did. Cheers.

Hi Ed, the emotional side effects of tx can sometimes be as difficult to deal with as the physical ones, but you`re not alone, most of us here have been there too.  We usually refer to the irritability and short temper as `riba rage`.   Remember it`s just the meds, it`s not your fault.

Some people find that anti depressants can be useful while on tx, and if you think that would help then talk it over with your doctor.  Other people prefer things like meditation or yoga, or the sort of things that Matt has suggested, but it`s important to get some relaxation of some sort while you`re on tx, and put aside some time to do whatever you find soothing and comforting.

Hang on in there, and best of luck with your 8 week results.  Don`t forget, you can always come here and have a rant or just a moan... it`s what we`re here for, and we understand!  smile   Keep in touch!  ~ Jill

Hello Ed

Hang in there Ed, I feel your pain. When you get past the 12th week things will get easy with the physical things.

As far as the short temper issues I can relate, the stress is a downer emotionally.

Try to find a way to chill out, take walk in a park, go to nature, do whatever has a calming effects on you, possibly breathing deeply, separate yourself from the conflagration. Read a book, say a prayer, whatever works for you.

Log on to the forum and build up someone else.

hi all, i started week no# 8 and this sat" i'm going for 8 week blood draw. I'm excited but very anxious at the same time. Started tx on 3/1/13 and after 4 weeks still det. hoping for better results at 8 weeks.  my tx hasn't been a bowl of cherry. lots of aches, rashes, rectal icting and some bleeding, but i have a new one now. its coming on slowly over the weeks . I've been getting more and more emotional and quik to fire off things i shouldn't say becuase im only hurting the people that love me and support me. its hard to admit i get teary eye over everything and cant controll it. I feel like an emotional misfit at time. I may have to find a way treat this symptom but my next appt with doctor is the following week.

geno type 1a since 96, third time on tx, starting vl 7.9 mil, 4 week at 3.3 mil
