I went from Lexapro (didn't want to take regularly) to Xanax. The Xanax I only take when I need to smoothe out my mood. It has worked for me.

Good luck. I have found much helpful info on this site from some smart people.

That's great Jessie. UND at 4 weeks means your getting the RVR to SVR!

You'd be surprised how many grams of fat you can get out of a bag of potato chips and a sandwich with mayo. I used to bring high fat things with me to work cause I only had 30 mins for lunch. Sometimes I'd be taking the Incivek and washing it down with a candy bar walking back to work. Luckily they had a roach coach that made fresh fries. Always a lot of fat in anything with potatoes lol.

BTW I lost weight anyway!

Good luck

Hi Jess,

Being Undetected at 4 weeks is a great start on the Incivek triple. You should only do the short course (24 weeks) and your chances look good. The drugs are working so concentrate on that- it will soon be over.

Hi Jessie,

Sounds like you've got alot on-your-plate, not even counting the HCV treatment.      The more [regular]sleep you can get- the better, although that's certainly easier said than done.   Meds can help in tough times, the shorter duration the better.    Some quiet time, maybe just 5 minutes to yourself, to pray, meditate or just stare out the window at the sky...it can help and it's free.

best of luck to you

Hi Jessie,
I am on the Incivek, Pegasys, Riba triple therapy. I got some major rage and other issues especially from the 4th to 10th weeks. I spoke to my doctor because I had heard here about riba rage and he laughed and said it was the Incivek. I am past my 12th week and off the Incivek now and there is a substantial difference. I feel a lot better. I still get my mood swings but not as severe.

You sound pretty busy with a hectic schedule and that just adds to the tiredness and not feeling well under the tx.

Hang in there it should get better over time.

Hi Jess,

I presume you're on the Incivek triple if you've got anal problems. Mood swings are very common on treatment. Rage, irritability, depression- we've all been there. It's really a matter of knowing that you're not alone, and it's caused by the drugs. We all have to find our own solution but some patients need to talk to their doctor, and even take some mood stabilising drugs. Try not to stress about things and get as much rest as you can. You sound as if you've got your hands full. Best of luck.

My Name Is jessie. i am at week 4 of triple therapy treatment for genotype 1 and doing very well with all the physical side effects, headaches being my only one and some slight anal itching. all that has been tolerable. however, i have been so irritable and had terrible mood swings and i dont know if youd call it paranoia but ive been having alot more issues with trust for no apparant reason. i work 4p-2a at a factory, drug classes twice a week, p.o twice a week and court once a week. i have a 2 year.old boy i get on weekends and a 9 month old girl that is living with me and her dad. my fiance (daughters dad) works days so im up early and in bed late and dont know if my moods are because of tiredness and stress or meds or both.  my fiance has about had it with my moods and so have i really but he doesnt really do much but get mad at me and make things worse. i know i start it but sometimes i just want some understanding and i know i go about it in the wrong way but when im in a mood its like i cant just shut my mouth and be nice. im just wondering if theres anyone else going through the same thing.

 Hi Jessie,

I`m glad you found us, welcome!  As Malcolm said, we`ve all been there and we understand only too well what it`s like.  I did my tx with just peg and riba, but also suffered badly with irritability and mood swings, and the incivek is almost certainly making it worse for you.   It`s very difficult for our family and friends to understand what`s happening, but do try to explain to your fiance that it is just the meds, it`s not your fault, and it won`t last forever.

Personally I chose to take medication to help smooth things out, but that doesn`t suit everyone.  Finding pleasurable things that can help you relax and unwind will be good for you, and getting enough rest is so important too.  You have a very busy life and maybe you could find a way to reduce your workload while you`re on tx.  Do whatever you can to reduce your stress levels, and please do accept any help that is offered!  This is your time, and you need to do whatever it takes to help yourself through this.

Hang on in there, things should get easier once you`ve finished the incivek.  Stay in touch!  smile
