Hi Sandy,

Most Primary Care physicians don't have a clue about managing side effects from Rx. You should only get advice from your Hepatologist.

Why would you want to reduce your blood pressure meds?  I took mine for 48 weeks without any problems.

As Mark said, you need a simple skin moisturiser such as Nivea, and avoid hot showers. I used moisturising eye drops as well. With your implants, look after your teeth as you will have a dry mouth with decreased , acidic saliva.

I wouldn't take Ibuprofen. It is a NSAID and can elevate liver enzymes, cause gastric problems etc. Take a panadol for pain relief instead. I didn't need any.

Good luck with Rx and hope your Sx are few. Cheers.

Most Drs will not only keep an eye on the sides but usually are pretty pro-active in their care. The last thing they want is for you to invest all the time and trouble getting started on Tx only to have it discontinued early. An anti depressant is never a bad idea, if you can get started on them B4 treatment begins is of a great help. They take a while to give full affect and it's better to be taking them and not need them as to need them and not have them. Also you'll definably want to get some high quality, unscented, natural body lotion. Dry skin makes the rash worse and you can never overdo the lotion. Best of luck to ya. It can be a long journey but it's well worth it.

just out of curiosity do most hepc doctors help managing side effects or send people to specialists or their primary dr. ? i requested a lower dosage of my blood pressure meds due to the interactions with incivek and was told to go to my primary. also i asked the nurse for a prescription for anti-nausea and was told to fax a request to the dr. she doesn't think they do that.

i want to thank all of you people posting advice. my start date is thursday 6/13. i've already am preparing for everything and anything re:side effects. i have immodium,benedryl,preperation-h,thermometer,zyrtec,prescription mouthwash, and ibuprofen on hand. did i miss anything? sorry for being so anal but i was a girl scout as a kid .

there is a light at the beginning of my journey... i now have 2 temporary crowns where my dental implant screws were and they're fully healed!!!! i heeded mallani's advice and stopped the 4 otc supplements for 1.5weeks and actually feel better!!!!
