i've met a lady in Split, Croatia (after FibroScan test), who confirmed she got it from her dentist. She already had immune sys compromised so she SoC TX hit her really bad...life sometimes is really unfair.

re dentist, i have told mine straight away i got hep c and was worried for him when he was doing plaque removal (lots of blood everywhere) and he was without glasses to protect his eyes. He said to me, weird enough, that at one point in past HCV was considered a professional dentist sickness? (wtf?)

Dillo. I had a friend who did the se thing to me. Made it very hard to trust people afterwards.

I went to the kidney Doc a while back and was telling the Nurse why I was there  (complications due to treatment)  the first thing she said was "how did you get it" I told her it doesn't matter how you get it, what matters is that you get treatment for it. She softened up and told me a friend of hers had it and started asking me questions about treatment.

To me people are on a need to know basis. My work doesn't need to know unless it would effect them. My close family knows.  I have told my close friends. I told one friend who I wish I hadn't cause they then outed it to other people who were not my friends.

People are so ignorant it's sad to me. When I first found out I was 18 and my hep doc was like so what drugs so you do? I said none and he no really. What drugs do u do... Jerk. I was a baby. And his comments stuck w me this whole time.

I called my dentist office yesterday to state I have this problem. The lady that answered the phone was nervous and quiet when I stated to add it to my records. I thought it was quiet funny, what does she think, I am going to infect her on the phone! :P

agree there, one hepatologist doc (even wose head of hepa dep) when i was trying to reach my hepa was extremley rude to me, in a way talking to me like i was IV drug user and i have noticed a lot of IV drug users on this therapy. Even i never did any IV drugs, it is a shame to treat people that used em as less valuable humans.

Exactly biggyb and nurschic. I work in a hospital I see how they act when hcv patients come in. And they do think they are drug users because the ones they see w it at the hospital are drug users. It shouldn't matter how you got it. I just know w the way they act they'd find a reason to get rid of me.

 I would have done the same thing. I have not told anyone at work either. My work life is my work life and unless I feel that my personal issues are affecting that Im going to keep it to myself. Word of mouth travels very fast at a work place and byt he time it goes around its never the correct story.

 Yea, i am like that too, sometimes even embarrassed i have this. And i don't know why, probably cause public thinks majority of us are drug addicts.

why would they throw it in the garbage? it's expensive medicine and if they exp date is ok i don't see a reason for nurse to throw it away...what is wrong with people good thing you have managed to pull it out of grarbage

Today in the locker room bathroom at the hospital one of my victrelis fell out of my pocket. It was on the floor when another nurse was like what is this to my manager and they both talked about looking it up in a drug book. I stayed quiet. Then they picked it up and laid it on the sink then decided to throw it in the garbage instead of looking it up. As soon as they left I took it out of the garbage and took it haha. Yuck but I'm not wasting those things.
