Congrats on making it thus far! Kudos to your hubby, as well. So far the only thing that helps me keep my mouth shut is to refrain from being around people, and prayer.

Thankfully I've not had a rash, only vomiting and diarrhea. 15 more days of Incivek (yes, I'm counting the days). I have twitching and jerking, but it just doubles the time it take to do anything! And I have to use two hands or I'll throw my water!

Keep up the hard work. It'll be worth it in the end!

Prayerfully,
Oral

Hi Friends, here's the latest on week 9. I've been a bit evasive about my progress and setbacks lately. Sorry 'bout that.....as for the evilfurious rash - the Incivik rash (knock on wood) is almost gone. A bit itchy but that's about it. I just think it's a miracle.

My NP is really happy that the rash is gone. My Eosinophils value at week 7-8 was 8.4. That was about the peak of the rash. She was not happy and 1 second away from discontinuing the Incivik at week 8 cry.

Well faith and begorrah, my Eosinophils value at this week is miraculously at 3.3. Yay!!!!

I can finally sleep a little more. Not a straight 8, but lord have mercy, every bit counts. I'm puttering around at night trying not to wake my husband. Last night I actually fell asleep before midnight. wow

I'm still UND and the other labs are stable at WBC 2.0; RBC 3.54 and HGB 11.4. 3 more boxes of the Incivik to go. yay! My thyroid is stable. I'm really tired and spacy and foggy headed all the time. It's to be expected.

I'm wondering if the turning point was adding the extra Zantac (thank you Ranalle ) and the all of the "Oat Magic" baths....? My NP says she will start prescribing the Zantac again as a matter of course to rashy patients.

I have a good cry everyday in the tub. It's necessary. Yesterday I felt I just couldn't go on another day (thank you JoAnneh for the pep talk ) I put on a tough front. I guess you guys have seen it. I can be a bit prickly like a cactus and off putting. I'm harmless. Really.

I have to watch my mouth in public. When I go out I just really try hard to be really really nice to people. The misery from the sx helps to expand my capacity for compassion and empathy. My husband is 2 days away from finishing his 1st college degree @ the age of 54 and I am so proud of him. So that's it for now. I'll do more labs in 2 weeks. Like I've said before, I couldn't do this treatment and stay sane without you guys in my corner, K

That's interesting that your rash went away and your still on the Incivek. Maybe your NP should be reporting that to Vertex. They don't always seem to be up on the latest things to help with a sx (don't always report them either ;))

Anyway never look a gift horse in the mouth. Trust me I know about the anger management and mouth issues. It is the drugs (with a few annoyances thrown in for good measure) I always had a filter problem with what may come out of mine at any given time anyway ;) the drugs don't help...Riba included. My Hepa still ask me about wheather I am considering suicide every visit we have. My pat answer is "Not this week"

Congrats on the rash removal and your husbands Degree. Yes let him have this one ;) and take him out for dinner at someplace that has food even you might like to eat ...

Onward thru the fog, and space...the final frontier ~
