This was same as the Incivik - I was told by my NP when treatment started if vl was detected at 12 weeks treatment would stop altogether, and I'd have to wait a year or so to try something else.  Kel

58 yo..Relapsed in 99 and again in 2004. Started triple therapy with Victrelis July 22,2012.  genotype 1a. week 8,12,16,24 VL Undetectable..E.O.T -- 6-22-2013,,,EOT + 24., UND. 

SVR !!!

Congrats on the UND! I ended treatment 10 days ago and am waiting for my end of treatment results. The waiting is never easy.

Genotype 3.  Treatment started on 1/11/2013 with Ribavirin and Pegatron.  Week 4 UND.  Week 12 UND.  Ended treatment on 6/28/2013.  Six months post treatment 12/04/2013 SVR.

Hi Tig56,

I've enclosed a link about the stopping rules for Victrelis. If you are Det. and have a VL of over 100 i.u./ml at week12, all Rx should be discontinued. If you have any Det. virus at week 24, all Rx is discontinued. These 'Rules' were made early in 2011, and some changes have been made.

Some Hepatologists think all prior relapsers and partial responders should have 48 weeks regardless of early viral response. Others rely on the Fibrosis stage, which is why having a liver biopsy is necessary. All patients that are F3 and F4 should have 48 weeks, due to the slower, prolonged action of Victrelis.

It's really up to your doctor.

I was told that regardless of the VL up until Week 12, if I was detectable at Week 12, the treatment was over. I was also told by my doc that he as a rule always makes repeaters and relapsers go the full 48 weeks. Now how does that work when most treatment protocols say you end at 24 weeks if you're UND at week 12 and after? I'm afraid that if my insurance company says you're done at 24, I'm done! There's no way I could personally afford to cover the costs of treatment. I don't think many of us could. I know if I had to, I'd hopefully be able to wait for one of the short duration, new and upcoming treatments!

Hi Nicole,

It''s very rare to go from Undet. at 8 weeks to detected at 12 weeks with Victrelis. It's that kind of drug. As you are Undet. at week 17, you'll be Undet at week 24, and total length of Rx will be 28 weeks. Well done. Cheers.

If i'm UND now i stop 8/1  28 weeks.  If i'm detectable I stop right now and have to wait for a new tx

I can recall a few times when people would report a slightly detectable viral load after weeks of UND. Some retested, some waited. How long is your entire treatment period going to be?

Hi Nicole, wishing you all the best of luck with your results!  All this waiting is part of the frustration of doing tx, we`ve all been there!  You`ve done everything you could and I know it`s been a struggle for you at times.

Has anyone heard of being und at week 8 and 17 but det at week 24 on victrelis? I'm so nervous but I guess whatever happens happens I can't control it
