The things we have to go through in addition to the disease and treatment.  I was late on my peg one week because the insurance would not clear payment until the day I needed it, so I got it a day late.  Another time I got it a week late and my PA had to scrounge for a borrowed dose so I wouldn't miss a dose.  I shouldn't be complaining.  I have a small copay and I have taken it each week.  I imagine there are hundreds of thousands that don't even have access to treatment.

Hep C 1a since probably 1981.  Incivek, riba and interferon-48 weeks.  UND at weeks 2-4-6-8-10-12-16-20-24.  Previously Interferon alone for 6 months non-responder.  SVR 48 weeks 12/11/14

Good news my cardio doc thats treating my thyroid just ordered my eot vl lab for me today!!! Yipee dont have to see my gi doc again. I am reporting her to AMA. Ill keep you all posted. I'm a 2 days away from being 3 weeks post treatment!

gods girl,

     i find all of this incredulous and i do believe the dr. should be reported to the AMA! also go treat yourself to something extra special.

you should be so proud of yourself for completing treatment.

     also w/your new dr. e-mail or fax all requests so that they're held accountable. my dr. made a sassy comment about my logging and documentations regarding all requests. knowledge=power!

Hi Jeri,

You have had below average treatment. However, go and relax and get yourself free of Peg and Riba. The only result that really matters is your EOT + 12 week or 24 week VL. You can't do anything to change that result, so relax and enjoy life.

I did a post about a year ago about questions to ask your Hepatologist. I'll do another one in General Information. Cheers.

do it on your own. I did 4th and 8th week PCR on my own, couldn't mess with doctors and insurance. Here it costs cca 100$ (Abbott PCR 12IU/ml threshold). I also intend to do EOT+12w on my own.

I have changed 2 hepas, 3 ultrasound technicians before settling with hepa and us tech that knows it's job decently.

That is ridiculous. I agree with everything Tig says and think you should get a ultrasensative VL test done as soon as possible. Your PCP should be able to do that for you.

Wow! It sounds like you made the right move by releasing her from your case and requesting a review of your care by her from hopefully a doctor that is not affiliated with her. I'd spend some time documenting your thoughts and concerns and be sure first of all that your future care is handled by a group that has all of your concerns first in their list of things to do! Take it one day at a time and get your health right where you want it to be. By informing the proper authorities of the apparent shortcomings from that office and/or individual, you will help see that it doesn't happen again! Good luck!

Greetings all! Ok of you may recall that I am finishing off Ribavirin this Thus. and finished Peg intron on July 11th. I have has no VL since week 11 and them my Dr. only tested to 650 VL. So I  to my Dr. office today to pick up my EOT lab order and notice she has again ordered no VL. After waiting for 13 weeks to test my VL, and being repeatedly told "I'll test at EOT" when I saw that she had not ordered them I as very upset. Seriously almost to the point of tear. She told me no point in testing now. We will in 90 day. I asked to speak to her office manager and resigned from her care. I called my HCV compliance nurse and go a referral to another GI here locally. I also asked for all my records. I am considering filing a clam for malpractice. Belie me this has been cruel and unusual punishment! My insurance even denied a refill Pegintron last month because she has not been testing my VL and they cant substantiate that treatment is working. I am so frustrated. Leaving for Jackson Hole WY. in the morning, was suppose to be EOT celebration.

Please thoughts and avice!
