Thanks for the good news everyone.  I guess his last day of treatment will now be Aug. 15th, 2014.  Can't wait until this is all over, as I will finally be able to get good nights of sleep again!

Hello,

If it was me i would flush them after your last dose a week after Peg.

And i would have a big smile on my face watching them go down.

Hi Carol, don`t worry, people quite often have pills left over by the end of treatment.  Your hubby will only need to take them for a week following his last shot and then his course of treatment is finished...congrats to him, and to you too for going through this by his side!  smile

I stopped after the one week. I had some
Left over too. Its my understanding Interferon and RIBA work together
Not separately.
Congratulations on getting close to the finish line!
That's great

I ran into the same problem. Extra pills with no clear understanding of where they came from. Then I looked carefully at my Rx's and noticed the Peg was refilled with a 28 day supply and the Riba was refilled with a 30 day supply. Meaning every 4 weeks I would get 2 extra days worth of Rib pills since i always refilled them the same day. I just took Riba the seven days after the last shot of Peg and shut it all down there.

This coming Thursday will be my husband's last Interferon shot!  I understand that his doctor would like him to continue taking his Ribavirin pills for one week after his last shot, which makes sense.  I already calculated the numbers, and after that last week of taking the Ribavirin pills, my husband will still have 72 Ribavirin pills left.  Do you think he should continue taking them until they are all gone, or should he just stop taking them?  (My husband is claiming that he has never missed a dose of the pills, which doesn't make sense to me because he had a 6 month supply)

Thanks,

Carol
