Hi Tonib,

The rash is probably due to Riba, although Victrelis itself can cause a mild rash. My rash didn't start until week 36 and continued until 4 weeks after the 48 week Rx. It was pretty mild and mostly on trunk and buttocks. It may be related to the dry skin we get, so I avoided hot water, and only had a brief shower every 2-3 days (Yuk-I know).  I used a tiny amount of baby shampoo, and avoided soap.  Any itchiness was controlled by 0.5% triamcinolone steroid ointment. Avoid tight clothes, don't scratch and stay out of the sun. Hopefully it will just to be another nuisance we have to bear. Cheers.

My heart goes out to all of you
Suffering with rashes.
Keep hanging in!
I just finished 48 weeks 3 months ago
And still UND!
It does seem like something happens
Every day but that gets better about week or so
after Invicek!
At least the daily surprises calm down to pure
And intense Exhaustion!
Hang in there! U will get to the finish line!

I feel for all who suffer the rashes.  It took a reduction in Riba (1200 to 800) at around 6 weeks to get mine under control.  Never have increased back to 1200 mgs.  Make sure to ask for relief from the itching.  There are meds that can help.  I use a medicated cream from my dermatologist and it control the itching for the most part. Good luck and don't remember to cut your fingernails.

hi tonib

my rash started after taking the victrelis at week 5.

It started on my legs and also my arms and back. It died down then returned on my legs with excema on my elbows. Then I went in the sun for 2 hours and bam! I got hit with a full body rash that lasted a week. It has a mind of its own. I use a lot of aloe vera gel and oatmeal baths.

My rash seems to have landed on my scalp. I'm using an anti itch shampoo as well as some OTC anti itch solution for the scalp. As long as I shower and apply it every couple of days I don't get too dry and the itching doesn't go overboard. I have had tether mild rashes but they have come and gone. I hope yours will too!

PS: Spell it like this "CIRRHOSIS"  Kind of an odd one isn't it?

Yes the rash has started, its not pretty and so far its only on my legs.  I put some coconut oil on it.....ugh another thing to worry about....and now my doc said most likely I will have to do the 48 weeks because of the cirrosis..which i can't seem to spell...but he said "they" recommend 48 weeks for patients with any cirrosis....I have it..under the microscope...what ever in Gods name that means...but I have it.   I know I know 1 day at a time...but I swear each and every day brings me a brand new bag of tricks to deal with....no more please...

Just trying to hang in there..and when I start to think...yeah I can handle this....yeah this is do able....then wham!  I get slapped with another tx.  Just praying for a good day....maybe tomorrow?
