I believe you're right. I just asked about everyone's weight loss during Tx in another thread. There is something about these medications that affects the sub cutaneous area of our abdomen. The Interferon isn't supposed to inject into the fat layer but something sure affected it or appears to. It'll be interesting to watch in the future.

My two sites are also 3 and 9.  There is no hair growing in a circle the size of the site and the depressions have not changed.  I haven't completed my injections yet.  One more!  Maybe I have discovered a new fat burning method.

Hey Hepcat, I remembered your question about indentations that have developed as a result of the abdominal injections. At the time I first replied I didn't see anything that resembled it, but over the last month I'm witnessing depressions on either side (3 & 9) of my belly button. They are as you said about the size of a baseball. Have you noticed any changes in yours since ending your injections? I'm going to monitor mine now that I'm done with injections too. Let me know when you get the chance. Thanks!

Hi Hepcat,

I would use more than 2 spots to inject. Personally, I had a chart of 8 sites around the belly button, and marked them off to get as far away from the previous one as possible.  Over my Interferon career spanning 15 years, I did a total of 316 injections without any problems. Can't say I lost any fat, as the injection is supposed to be subcutaneous. Cheers.

Wow I thought 232 injections over the last 14 years was a lot! I did shot 47 tonight with the triple Vic combo. I was

UD at week twelve, I'm sure hopping for SRV this time. I use to angle my shots at a 45 deg angle and had lots of bruising in the past treatments.  Tis time I went straight down and have never bruised once this time in the tummy

I lost 35 lbs. or so and I just use to sights on the tummy. Procret/Eprex on Mondays and the dart on Thursdays. 17 days of treatment left 46/48 two darts left. Still hanging in.

No depressions in my stomach, but it sure is flatter. I'm down to 126 right now, from 145 at the beginning of treatment. Yes, its a knarly way to lose weight.

I had no depressions either. I alternated all around mine with shots.

I do have some wrinkles-loose skin  from where I lost so much of it.

Seeing how hungry I am after tx it's all I can do to try to keep it close to what it was at the end.

I haven't noticed anything like that. But if you continue to see more loss than you like, I'll be glad to give you some of mine! I agree with you that this is quite a weight loss program for some. Since starting treatment on May 23rd of this year, I've lost 41 pounds as of this week, without trying. I think I may actually eat more now than I did before treatment. Only because I have to, due to all the med recommendations. More frequently, that's for sure! I'll be having to work at regaining the muscle mass I unfortunately lost but I'll be more than happy to do that for a SVR notice in return! It will be interesting to see what happens to our weight following EOT.

Has anyone else noticed a depression in the fatty injection site.  I'm rather thin but have a little more belly fat than I would like.  I use two areas on my tummy and alternate weeks.  I have noticed a depression in the site area on each side.  It is an area about the size of a baseball and slightly depressed on both sites.  Talk about a tough way to burn fat!
