Oooh, thanks guys! See that is what i thought! I did call my nurse (again) about this and she told me that i must have forgotten those 22 doses so to go ahead and finish them after my last peg. She obviously is confused or was covering her own mistake. Oh well it happens i guess. Im just glad i have enough sense to figure things out for myself! Yes, im able to discuss things with my doctor but he isnt as available as the nurse is. I have an appointment with him in a couple weeks after my final viral load comes back. I made it!!! 7more days of this horrible riba and I AM DONE! :))

I'll be taking my last injection on Nov 28th and am required to continue taking the Ribavirin and Victrelis for one more week. I would finish the last weeks worth of medication. Malcolm is right, with the 24 week treatment, each week is important! Have you been given the opportunity to discuss this with your doctor, or just the nurse? You should be given that chance if you request it. Good luck, you're almost over the finish line!! WOOT!!!!

Yes, Malcolm has a good point, maybe your nurse has got confused.  Personally, if it was me I would carry on taking the ribasphere for a week following your last shot, just to give yourself the best possible chance of SVR, especially as you say you`ve probably missed a few doses along the way.  That is the usual protocol, even though I`ve noticed it`s not what everyone is instructed to do.

Hi April,

Sounds as if your nurse is confused. It is usual to continue Riba for a week after your last Peg. injection. As the Peg. lasts a week, this will need another week of Riba.

As you are only doing 24 weeks, each week is important, and you really shouldn't miss a week of Rx. Cheers.

Hi aprileee, that`s great news, well done!  About the ribasphere, most people carry on taking their riba pills until the end of the week following their last shot, but if your nurse has instructed you to finish them both together then I would take her advice.  Quite a few of our members have talked about having a lot of pills left over by the end so I wouldn`t worry too much about that.

Keep in touch and best of luck with your end of treatment results!

So this saturday night i will be doing my final injection!! Woohooo! But i am a little confused about something, and hate that i am questioning my nurse. I am taking pegintron with ribosphere, and like i said my last peg is saturday night and i knew that i probably missed a few doses of riba (oops!) But i have a lot left over! Too much! 44 pills to be exact. That means i missed 22 doses? No way! My nurse says that this saturday is the last day of peg and riba, but shouldnt i be taking the riba for another week? That would explain the extras? Nurse says it would be pointless to take them because they work "together." Well isnt the peg still in my system so i should continue taking the riba!? Does anybody have an answer for me?? Thanks :)
