I tell them at the infusion center that the sun is starting to hurt my eyes. People with O+ are starting to glow, they should be glad I have false teeth because who knows what might happen next.

Heres a little food for thought.  Don't wana be a downer but I'm sure ppl here can relate to this.  I have tattoos was given blood products and used drugs in my younger days. I most likely caught this from drugs. I was on a methadone program for 10 yrs at 90 miligrams a day. Decided I'd had enough, 10 days later I was on zero. (wana talk about side effects?) Never looked back. Now that I'm drug free for 30 years I still have to go and some one sticks needles in my arm to make me feel better. Karma is relentless, how ironic is this.

Hope your feeling better Dusty.

If I recall, our EOT dates are very close together. Mine is Dec 20th.

FYI:

The pain has severely increased in the last 2 days (my hgb drops is at 8), esp at the back of the neck and head. Feels like my head is going to explode.

I tried every type of pill possible, even an allergy pill and nothing worked.

Today something did work for the most part!

Caffeine!! Yup a big of cup of regular tea!

Wiki says that caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant.

So did I really have a headache or is it just a lack of oxygen? confuse

Thank you all so much.

Scruffy: I just ran out of breath laughing so hard, Dracula! That is priceless.

Sandy: I know! Just spent 15 hours in bed.

Terry: I agree, one day at a time. Everyone is so unique.

I know how that feels Dustbear. I'm at week 15 and went for my third transfusion Oct. 30. I couldn't resist it being so close to Holloween. I showed up dressed like Dracula and in my best Beli Legosi voice told them trick or treat. I don't know how I had the attitude or will to do that. But I did my hb was 7.2. Ahhh a little me time with the IV.

Best to ya.

It is a total lack of energy due to a lack of oxygen in the red blood cells (low hemoglobin).

No oxygen = no energy = extreme fatigue

My mind wants to get up and go but the lack of energy says do I need to, do I want to, do I have to, it can wait, Ill run out of breath and get dizzy and thats too much effort!

-         Laying in bed totally exhausted; not sleepy but too tired to:

-         Roll over in bed

-         Sit up in bed

-         Get out of bed and put on shoes

-         Walk to the toilet, sit and stand up again

-         Walk to the couch to do what, sit there?

-         God do I have to go downstairs, its not that important

-         Lets go back to bed and lay there!

-         I tried to walk around the block last week and it took 3 days to recover!

Its not really painful, just tiring.

Im tired of being tired.

I hope this brings some enlightenment to others.

In a positive note, what this has done for me is to live in the present moment.

I let go of worrying what I cant do and control.

I didnt give up, I gave in.

When a moment of energy arrives, I say to myself surprise and lets enjoy the moment! smile

Now Im due for my 5th blood transfusion!  Yippee some more energy!

That is good news to hear. I was worried how long it would take for my blood to bounce back.

You almost get used to the feeling but then you give your head a shake. confuse

Yes Bob, the last 7 weeks seem to be like a cliff-hanging movie!

Thanks for the words of wisdom.

I see the light!
