I suffer from the same but a bonus for me was triple therapy because the drug I was on Arthrotec contributed to finding out that kidney damage was also occurring the specialist suggested Jamieson Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM 1,300 three times daily, after a month or more, kidneys back up to safer area and the pain is tolerable, the more time off triple therapy and more active life is improving, still us some pain medication but it is down to a half per day when needed and that is not often, hope this helps

Hi Thomas and welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear about your current situation. You mentioned being off triple therapy for 10 months now. Did you complete treatment and did you achieve SVR? It would be helpful to know a little more history if you get a chance. Has there been any discussion about the possibility of "sciatica"? Your symptoms have some similarities.

Its difficult to say if this will pass. Like so many things, it depends on the underlying cause and the chance there may be some injury to the area. I've got a lot of nerve damage from an  old spine injury and even with PT, I've needed to see a pain management doctor to control the chronic pain. I know the concern of drug dependence is worrisome but with proper medical care and monitoring by your physician, that can be kept to a minimum. Tramadol, while it is opioid in nature, has a lower possibility of dependence. I hope that concern is something you and your doctor can resolve together. I know one thing, being in chronic pain has it's own definite pitfalls and is worth avoiding. Good luck with that.

I am new to the forum and have been off Hep C triple therapy for close to 10 months.  I am experiencing severe pain in my left hip, left thigh and lower back.  The worse pain is that sharp pain in the middle of my left thigh. The doc says it is arthritis in my hip.  I went to physical therapy and that helps some. My daily stretching is helpful but requires a lot of discipline--without any long term impact (for most days I have this severe pain). Some days are worst then others but never to the point where I can't function.  I do office work so I sit all day. However, I am very active and will not allow this to keep me down. I have been on Tramadol which works, but I am very concerned about the hepatic side effects (proported) and the possibility of addiction. I alternate days with advil and tylenol with some relief.  I have read in the forum that this pain may pass or go away after 12 to 18 months post treatment.  Any truth to that or I will I have this condition forever?
