Tig has it right - always amazed at how people will keep all cancelled checks and bank statements but never have any of their health lab reports!  Get them and keep them updated.   BTW,  I do trend graphs on some of my major indicators - don't expect most doctors to do this with the limited time they have.....

I use labcorp beacon patient as well. I always had my results before the nurse ever called. They release it to beacon I believe 2-3 days after the drs office. I love it and it is very user friendly!

Hey Lee,

I tried using the Quest software too. It's called "Gazelle". I confirmed it with the lab and downloaded it to my iOS devices and then ran into the problem. If your doctor's office doesn't participate with Quest for the service, they won't release your results and/or you can't access them. I tried several times to get my doctors office to work with me on it and the nurse simply wouldn't comply or cooperate. I got tired of the games and made them provide hard copies of every file they had. There's more than one way to skin a dragon...

I can't express how important it is to get copies of all your lab tests, from start to finish. I actually lost the opportunity to participate in one of the last Sofosbuvir trials because my former doctor destroyed all copies of my labs after 5 years. They used a private lab and I wasn't able to track them down either. The cooperation from all involved was the worst I've ever dealt with. That was a lesson learned!

Recommendation - get your own copy of lab reports and review before seeing dr.

In the US, various labs now have patient portals that offer pdf copies of your lab reports - I use these to print out my reports before seeing the dr - I then can use the drs time wisely and be researched/prepared with my questions.  I also take copies of it to other doctors.

I typically use LabCorp (product called Beacon) which has an excellent web interface - i tried the Quest tool which uses smartphones but never could get it to work.

Labcorp portal is at:   https://patient.labcorp.com/patient/PatientWeb/default.aspx
