That's awful Sally... Stupid infection popping up while away from home. How did you make out on the plane? I'd be nervous flying for that long with sick people in a comfined space. I have a chance to go to Hawaii in August as part of Team Diabetes, but am nervous for the flying part. And sun... Aren't we suppose to stay out of the sun while on RIBA? And the shortest distance I could do is a 6k hike so that might be unattainable as well.... Sigh .... Sorry for jumping on board the pity train, but sometimes we just gotta rant..lol.

fI sure hope the infection clears up quickly. How are yoir blood counts? Have they been low making you susceptible to infections?

Someday in the not too distant future we won't have to worry about blood counts, viral loads and mega pills.... :)

Hi Globetrotter,

Bummer! I can relate with your problem. I had trouble with ear infections during and post treatment that required antibiotics and pain medication. The good news is, they worked! It will take a day or two for the antibiotics to start reducing the inflammation and infection but by this evening, hopefully you'll be feeling much less pain. Why is it that these things seem to happen when you're on vacation or on holiday? I've got this habit of developing dental problems while on vacation. I almost expect it anymore! I wish you the best and please don't consider yourself whiney in any respect. We're here to talk, whatever and whenever it's necessary!

P.s. Hero pants can't be worn everyday unfortunately! But just because you may not feel the part today, doesn't mean your not one! Keep fighting the good fight!

Sally, Sorry to hear that! Tx is tough enough, especially with travel plans ahead! Hoping the ABX kick in quickly and Vicodin help relieve some of the pain until they do! Best wishes, Tim

You will be okay, Sally. The medicines will kick in and relieve you of the pain.

We all have to fight our battles. And hopefully, when the treatment is over, you will be cured. And you would be able to live a happy and a disease free life.

I'm so sorry to hear that, globetrotter :( That sounds very painful. Have the meds been helping at all with the pain level? It sounds like tonight is a great night for cuddling up with a hot cocoa, under a warm blanket (if you like chocolate) :) Take good care of yourself!
