I've managed to calm down. I'm still mad at myself, but do believe that one missed dose probably won't ruin the entire treatment. I shall be extra vigilant from now on, that's for sure. Damn pills make you lose your mind. I have driven past my exit about three times in the last month...lol. If I can't laugh about it... I'd go crazy! So glad to hear that all is not lost. This forum is a godsend! If I had to wait until Monday to talk to my nurse, it would have been one heck of a weekend!

Gracie,

Don't feel bad about the missed dose, I'm sure that the tx protocols allow for a margin of error, and still have the given success rate. But, I do know how you feel, you have a lot of blood-sweat & tears invested in this whole miserable process.
I missed a dose of Victrellis while on tx and beat myself up over it, but the folks here on the forum reassured me that all was not lost.

Egg Mcmuffin! Yummm. Boy tx hasn't had to much effect on my appetite. When I went for my first transfusion it was through the emergency room. They told me " don't worry we have all those med here as I asked because it was an over nighter. Well they didn't and I had to get the Ladies next store to bring them to me. Well they brought me an empty incivek box. LOLno The were nice enough to make another trip to my house and back.I was kinda freaking out and it must have showed. I still owe them a dinner out some where nice.

It's because I changed my schedule that day. Went for my blood work early so I wouldn't have to go out in the cold later. Had my pills with me, but totally blanked after I ate my egg mcmuffin. Didn't even know I didn't take them until I oped the container to take last nights and the morning pills were there too. Just really annoys the heck out of me. Two damn weeks left! Argh!!!!

Gracie

Maybe you should slow down a bit. Don't let stuff get to you that will make you forgetful. I would just take that missed dose last. So you have 2 weeks and one dose left. wink

I feel for you. I am sorry you are having a rough time. I almost started incevik last year but the meds never got pushed through for whatever reason and now I'm glad to be on the sovaldi triple tx. You are a trooper!

THANK YOU Cinnamon girl...I have been freaking out. Feeling slightly better now, but still can't believe that I did that. I'm never going to miss another, that's for sure. I'm glad it was at least after I'd cleared the virus. Now to keep it that way and stop messing up. May need to download that medecine app to keep me on track. I'll take the extra dose at the end so I'll get all of them taken.

Hi Gracie....it`s ok, you haven`t blown it, not at all!  Most people manage to miss a dose at least once during their treatment and the doseage allows for that.  According to the incivek prescribing information the instructions are that if it`s been more than 6 hours since you missed the dose then you skip it and carry on as usual.  If it`s been less than 6 hours then take it as soon as possible and take the next dose at the usual time.

You`re not stupid, you`re just on some heavy duty drugs...don`t worry, you`ll be fine!  smile

Ok, so now to make a bad week even better, I went to take my incevik and noticed I missed the previous dose. Have I totally screwed up now? I am already negative, but am in week ten. Are the last two weeks the most important? Should I just take it at the end? Sick to my stomach now that I've blown it totally! The stupid 24/7 nurse they talk about on the incevik website is no longer 24/7. You have to leave a message and she calls you back. How could I be so stupid!!!!! I could kick myself! Only two weeks left and I blow it!

Hey Gracie

My heart go out to you, try to think of the future time when this will be only a memory. You can only take one day at a time but you can keep your eyes on the prize. Knowing others have been through this and acheived SVR will be the hope that can sustain you. Read their stories and enjoy there outcome.

Hi Gracie,

Tired, cranky, bruise easily, no neutrophils........ Yep! That's treatment, old style. The memories of triple Rx will never be forgetten. Soldier on, remember why you're doing this.

The guys on the new drugs should remember how lucky they are. Interferon and Ribavirin are great drugs, but their side effects are the pits! Chin up.

Hi Gracie, sorry you`re not feeling so good this week, hang on in there and once you`re through with the incivek things will start getting easier I`m sure.

Your platelets are very low, yes, so do be careful not to play with sharp knives!  It`s the interferon which is causing the drop in your platelets and in your neutrophils and so your doctor might want to reduce the dose for a while to give your blood levels time to pick up.

Getting through this treatment isn`t easy, we know, but you`ve got a great attitude and sense of humour and that will carry you through.

You`re doing well so relax as much as you can, and take care!  smile

As you can see from my avatar, I am not having a good week. Now I know why. Platelets 44, ANC .5 .... I've been tired, cranky, blah feeling, dizzy and all around not very fun to be with! And random bruises keep appearing! Two more weeks of Incevik and praying for higher blood counts. This stuff is nasty .... hope everybody else is doing well! The sun is shining so that is nice to see.
