Hi John, it depends which PCR test your lab is using.  Tests do vary and some labs still use ones that have a LLOQ (lower limit of quantification) of 43.  What exactly does it say on your results, does it say `detected` or `target detected`, or `undetected`?

That is a huge drop in viral load anyway for 2 weeks into treatment, excellent result!  smile

Undetected is less than 15. You were very close to that. I'd say you are responding terrifically. I'm watching you guys carefully as I also failed Incevik. Keep up the good work.

Two week labs? Either way, yeah!!!! Awesome news!!!

I am about to come unglued waiting for my results!  They had me go in at one week. First orders were for 2 weeks and 3 weeks, then re sent for 1 week and 3 weeks. Not real sure what's up with that!!

Hey John

Welcome to the forum, sounds like you have made up your mind. Sovaldi will certainly provide a power house treatment but interferon is very important part of the treatment so its important to make sure your not interferon intolerant or insensitive. Ask your doctor

I am going for it - the people I have talked to say the re is very little chance I would not be eligible for new treatments next year if this fails.  Here i go!

Hi John,

I would worry about going on Interferon again. I know you failed the Incivek triple, and people who relapse while on Rx usually do so because they are not Interferon sensitive.

Jill is correct about the antiprotease RAV's that you may, or may not have. Sovaldi would take care of them, but Sovaldi also needs backup with another antiviral. If it was me, I'd want to wait for an Interferon-free combo. Sovaldi/Olysio is available now, or if you wait 6 months, Sovaldi/Ledipasvir will be available. Just my opinion. Cheers.

I am a former tx relapser and have been on the new triple for a month..awaiting my 4 week lab results. I should know if it's working by tomorrow. My doctor said the rates are around 90% for cure on this therapy for the majority of people. I'm not clear on the statistics. I do know that everyone on this tx is having a vast drop in VL numbers very quickly. Good luck.

Hi John, that`s great news, at last.  We do have members who have failed previous treatments and who are now doing well on Sovaldi plus ribavirin with or without interferon, and mostly they have had undetected results after just a few weeks.

As you`ve already done one treatment that included a protease inhibitor (telaprevir/incivek) then I should think this is the best treatment option for you at the moment.  You may well have developed RAV`s, which are resistant virus mutations, to incivek and so retreatment with another protease inhibitor, for example Olysio (Simeprivir), wouldn`t be advisable.

You should do well on the Sovaldi triple and I wish you all the best of luck!  Stay in touch, and do keep us updated.

I found a doctor who will put me on interferon, rib and solvaldi even though I failed triple therapy with Telaprivar.  Is anyone hearing any good results yet for us non responders and solvaldi?  What about tolerance failure?
