Thanks everyone. I just got back from my 8 week check in with the liver doc. He too is happy about my WBC as well as my HGB. No labs today and he actually said that I can cancel my 12 week check in with him; because my HGB is stable I do not need to see him that soon. Unless I start to feel like garbage, then he said to call in of course.

I actually do not need labs again until the first week in August as that will be EOT + 12 (13 weeks in my book but maybe he wants an extra week buffer).  He said if I'm UND at that blood draw I can say "SVR". He said he wants to see me back in his office in November for a 6 month post EOT check up and another VL. And then in May of 2015 for a 1 year post EOT with VL.

Oh and my doc thanked me for the experience with Express Scripts/Accredo - he said as the number of his patients on treatment goes up, so does his phone time with Accredo - he actually told me today he hates them already and they should not be allowed to handle the HepC meds!

@ Wayne and Matt ... sure you guys can! What's a couple of platelets between friends?            biggrin

Love the numbers, Kristen. Happy that wonky WBC thing is no big deal. Must be a huge relief for you. Can I have about a 100k of your platelets?  wink

Hi Kristen,

I'm so glad to read the good news! I can't get over your AST/ALT results. How often are we talking about those being elevated and yours are low! Sounds like everything is going better and finally the end of treatment is in sight, woot! Drink plenty of water, sounds like you might need the fluid replacement after all those tubes of blood, lol! Good luck, EOT is near.....

Hi Kristen, I`m so glad to hear your elevated WBC count isn`t related to any more serious problems, what a relief.  I know you`ve been worried about it for a few weeks now and no wonder your stress levels have been going up!  Apart from that your lab results are looking good and your Hb level is holding up well considering the effects of the ribavirin.

Keep going and best of luck!  Happy Tuesday to you!  smile

Happy Monday everyone!  I got my 8 week labs a little early.  My PCP was overly worried about my elevated WBC. I had checked in with him after my 2 week labs showed the elevation and my liver doc wanted me to check in with the PCP. He re-ran the labs and WBC was still elevated. Then my liver doc ran my 4 week labs and WBC was still up so my PCP referred me to the Cancer Institute at the same hospital where I treat. I went to that appointment on Friday and had 10 very large vials of blood drawn; amazingly, not even the slightest bruise on my arm. Apparently oncologists get those lab results immediately. The oncologist asked why the other docs were freaking out? He said the WBC that is elevated is directly related to the fact that I'm a smoker and that I have been extremely stressed over the last few weeks. He said aside from that, my lab work shows that I'm entirely healthy and as far as he's concerned, no cancer (leukemia is specifically what they were worried about). I follow up with my liver doc for my 8 week check in tomorrow afternoon. All the labs he would have ran were run Friday so unless he's doing an 8 week VL I may, just may, get lucky enough to get out of that place just once without getting stuck with more needles!!!

Hopefully everyone is truckin' right along. The first 4 weeks went pretty fast... these last 4 weeks seemed to drag... hoping the next 4 weeks are decent. The riba rage intensifies by the day and my skin is a disaster. Keep smiling!
