Thanks! I'm feeling good so far. Maybe a a little more tired and irritable than usual, but like Barnacle I'm still able to do yard work and remain active. Hopefully it stays that way. No tickets though, haha.

welcome Daniel, You should do well, Type 2 responds well to this combo.  I"m on the same trearment drugs and the sofosbuvir really dosent have s/x   but the riba is a differnt story for some of us.  I feel amped up all day and night and couldent sleep intell i started taking ambien, if you find you cant sleep the ask your Dr for sleep meds because the days are harder if you dont sleep at night, the riba really messes my day up, but its very  doable but lack of sleep really magnafies the riba rage thing.  Remember this is my experence and not all on this combo have s/x like i have.    Set alarms for your med times, and stay with the program, your chances of UND are good.  keep us posted with you blood draw results. Best of luck to you  RC   type 3  f4   10 weeks into 16 week trial

Starting second week sovaldi/olysio/riba and the only issue I have had and I think it's related to olysio is I got a sunburn when there was overcast skies. I never burn even in bright sun
Otherwise feeling really good. Mowed the lawn, went shopping, took the dog to the lake for a swim, got a ticket from by-law officer for having my dog off leash. Pretty full day. Lots of energy.

Hi Daniel,

Welcome to the forum my friend! So glad you found us. I'm also thrilled to hear you have the opportunity to start this most excellent treatment regimen! Congratulations on having such a heads up insurance carrier. You should do very well on your combo and even though the Ribavirin might give you a run for your money, the side effects are manageable and the treatment length is so much shorter, it will be over before you know it. We've got several members that are in the midst of treatment and I finished up 28 weeks of the stuff in December. So there are plenty of people that can provide suggestions and support. Good luck, keep us advised of your progress!

Hi Daniel,

Not everyone will be effected terribly by Ribaviren, some people maintain good with it for many months without too many problems. I am anemic and I can best describe it as feeling sea-sick. I couldn't access Sofosbuvir so i am on interferon. To be fair 12 weeks seems like a dream to me, if it was 12 weeks I'd be celebrating considering I am now starting week 3.

Either way, with good support your do fine :D

Hey everyone,

Bombs aways! I took my first pills this morning. I'm kind of nervous b/c of all the side effects associated with Ribavirin, but staying positive. I was born in 1977 and needed 5 blood transfusions, which is most likely how I got HCV. I was diagnosed with it in 2000 when I tried donating blood. I've been delaying treatment and waiting for a drug like Sovaldi to come on the market. Since my AST is 66 and ALT is 153, I figured now is the time to finally rid my life of this stupid virus. I've been married for 10 years and I have two young girls. I have a lot to live for. Don't we all...

So my treatment is for 12 weeks and I'll keep track of my progress. I'm very thankful that Kaiser Permanente decided to carry Sovaldi despite it's outrageous cost to them ($1000 a pill?? C'mon!). I still paid my normal prescription co-pay, so I'm extremely grateful for that. I know a lot of patients are having a hard time getting access to it.
