Hi Bama,

Some conclusions.

Non-responder to previous treatment in a Geno 3, means no luck with 24 weeks of Peg/Riba. Re-treatment with this is not an option. ?mark about whether Interferon will work. Not enough is known about Sovaldi/Peg/Riba.

Ultrasound diagnosis of splenomegaly is suspicious of cirrhosis. A biopsy or Fibroscan should be performed.

Geno 1b, IL28B CT,  x3 prior relapser,  ex-cirrhotic, 75 yo, did 48 weeks with Victrelis/Peg./Riba.  VL 1.28m at start, UNDET. at 8 ,12 ,16 ,24 ,30  and 48 weeks.  EOT 15 Feb 2013 , UNDET. at EOT + 28 weeks. SVR!  Still Undet. at EOT +5 years

I am a 3 ,, the Sovaldi and Ribavirin 24 week is what I am on,, You may have better luck with the S/L combo,,, It will be out soon, I would Waite on it

  HCV Genotype 3a , now Psot-Tx was on S/riba. First VL was 5.8 mil on 7-5-13 then "und" at 3.8 weeks. 06/13/14 still und. off meds 3 days back on 7/29 Last pill 08/10/14 SVR+4

Hi Bama,

This report describes a few things. First it mentions you are a genotype 3, have had and failed, treatment previously. You must have had a diagnostic ultrasound that showed an enlarged spleen. The platelet count of 212,000 is quite normal. A typical normal platelet range is 150,000 to 400,000 cubic mm. There is also mention that further treatment with a interferon based protocol isn't contraindicated. If you have any other questions please ask.

Hepatitis C - The patient is being seen for follow-up. The hepatitis c is characterized as Genotype 3. Therapy includes:  non-responder to treatment. Previous diagnostic tests have included ultrasound (splenomegaly and platelet count of 212,000). No contraindications to interferon therapy
