That's what I was on. You will do great on that combo.

No sx except a little light headed the first couple of times I took it for a few minutes. That was it!  Fantastic!

Hi again Dragonfly, going back to your question about possible side effects, you might find you experience things like fatigue, nausea, or headaches but I`m sure it won`t be anywhere near as difficult as your previous treatments with peg/interferon.  We have quite a few newer members now with experiences of Sovaldi treatment and the sx are minimal compared to the older SOC treatments you`ve done before.

Will you be taking ribavirin too?  If so you`re already familiar with how that can affect you, although when it`s used in combination with the new DAA drugs you`re less likely to suffer with more extreme sx like anaemia for example which has been a problem for you in the past.

Do you know how many weeks you`ll be doing yet?  Sorry for all the questions...you must still be trying to take in the good news!!  smile

Hello Dragonfly, good to hear from you again and what great news! 

When i first read your post I assumed you`d be on Sovaldi as I know that the NHS is providing funds for a limited number of people (about 500) here in England to be treated with that drug, but to be getting Daclatasvir as well is fantastic as the original clinical trials for the Sov/Daclatasvir combo showed excellent results.  Neither of these drugs have been officially approved by NICE for use by the NHS over here yet and it`s so good that they are being made available to patients in the most urgent need.  With your tx history I`m not surprised that you qualify and I`m very pleased for you!

We`re so lucky to be having such lovely weather this year and I`m sure you`ll have a great time seeing Black Sabbath...I did consider going to that but instead I`m seeing Neil Young in Hyde Park the following Saturday!  A trip to Iceland sounds fascinating!

Hi, I'll be on Solvadi and Dataclasvir (sure I haven't got the right spelling yet).  Excited and apprehensive but I'm so happy to have been given this chance.  Off to see Black Sabbath tomorrow in Hyde Park.  Summer is here, Iceland awaits and all is good in my world!

Hi dragonfly,

which treatment are you talking about. I know that many members have been on trials or using newer meds so it would help us answer your question if we have that information. Many members have posted already about side effects so if you go into the section for those on tx your questions may be answered already. I just completed 12 weeks of sovaldi and ribavirin. The worst for me was fatigue, ribarage, nausea and mental confusion. The mental confusion was particularly bad since I was in school and had a statistics class. Math is not my forte. But I muddled through and I am UND one month after tx. Just waiting for my six month labs to be done in late november. There are many good tx out there depending on genotype and stage of liver disease. Please let us know which tx you are referring to. Good luck. Sorry about being turned down for a trial. That must be rough news to get.

Hi, I haven't posted for some time as it has been a long, hard academic year and I've not been well (I was also turned down for a trial in January).  I went to see my consultant today and he has put me forward for the new treatment which I think is not still approved for license in the UK.  Any info that you might have vis a vis side affects will be gratefully received as we are a little behind the US in availability of meds.  I can only be thankful that I have this opportunity and wish the same for others.
