No I don't have the one as Kardashian :), but yes I will have it done in the butt! Thought it was allowed only in thigh, stomach and upper arm area.

Again, I don't know anything about your situation, but if you have someone who can inject the inf in your buttocks, it may be an option?

Hi Doni:

Have your physician brother-in-law give you the shot in your butt.  Don't worry, he's seen plenty of asses before.  biggrin  

Alternative, ask your wife to do it.  The butt was, hands down, the best site for me!

  HCV Genotype 3a , now Psot-Tx was on S/riba. First VL was 5.8 mil on 7-5-13 then "und" at 3.8 weeks. 06/13/14 still und. off meds 3 days back on 7/29 Last pill 08/10/14 SVR+4

I always pinched up some skin and went all the way in. Used a 5/8" 28 gauge. But it really depends on how much tummy fat you have.

Probably I got into my muscle, which hurt. I bought insulin syringe with a needle which has size of 30GX1/2". Should I insert the half or full of the needle into my stomach?

I did my first shot yesterday in my arm with no problem. I already use my abdomen for insulin shots and was told to use each arm and leg once per month.

62 years old. Probably became HCV positive in the early 70's. genotype 1. Started treatment August 15 2014 w/ pegasys, ribavarin, sovaldi.

Finished treatment on November 7th. Had no detectable viral load at week 6. Waiting until the fat lady sings.

I did 24 weeks interferon and I was told to do the injections in the thighs and on either side of the belly button rotating each week.   Sometimes there was bruising but was gone by the next time I got to that location 3 weeks later.

Darn Doni, I'll bet your arm does hurt!

Hi Doni,

I wouldn't use the arm. The abdominal wall around the umbilicus is easier. I had a chart with 6 areas, and I marked them off each time so I could rotate the sites.

Over the years, I gave myself 349 Interferon injections ( not all were Peg.) Only a few caused slight bruising. It's a subcutaneous injection with a fine needle, so it shouldn't cause pain. Cheers.

Had my first shot yesterday. My sister's husband, who is a doc did it on my arm, and my shoulder hurts bad now. Had chills and fever all night. I hope that's all sx I will have.
