Hi Bill,

Those are great numbers! Congratulations on that very positive news! Your ALT/AST levels are good and the bilirubin is still well within normal limits. Some see an elevation in their bilirubin but generally return to normal if they do. Ask your doctor about the bloating at next visit.

I am about to the end of week 6.  Funny, I was looking in the mirror and thought I looked a bit bloated.  In the last week to 10 days, I have noticed a loss of appetite.

My blood work at 3 weeks is as follows:

Quantitative <15 and <1.18 - Non Detectable  (was 2.2MM <15 and 6.31 <1.18)

ALT = 34 was 141

AST= 21 was 72

Billirubin (total) .06  was .09

How was your other bloodwork?  alt/ast. bilirubin?   I have been on Harvoni for 4 weeks and my ALT/AST went to normal values in both the 2ndweek and 4 week, and my bilirubin went to .7 2nd week and 1.0 4th week.  I am waiting o hear from the doc regarding viral load.

Hey Lysa,  I too am on my 5th week of Harvoni and like you,  my stomach is bloated to the point,  when I saw my Dr. I asked him if all of a sudden could my liver be acting up?  Anything that happens to me,  right away I think it has to do with my Hep C.  He said it probably was do to the bad weather,  and that I am not getting out of the house and doing any exercise or walking.  I don't think it's anything to worry about.  I was a bit pissed off cause I went for my blood work one week prior to my Dr.s appt. and they did everything he had asked for except for my viral load.  So he said "do not worry" your viral load isn't important at this time.  I really don't get it, but My upmost importance is to keep calm, cause I can stress myself out very easily.  Just take it easy and I am glad that we got to connect being we are both in the place with Harvoni.  Good vibes going your way!   ROEY

Hi Kerry,

Congratulations for getting treatment underway! The first week is often the hardest. Your body is adjusting to some powerful drugs and is standing up and saying WHOA!!! what are you doing!! It should and usually does improve after the first week or so. Hang in there...

Hi and welcome to the forum, Lysa!

Congrats on your undetected result, that is excellent and you must so thrilled!

I hope you don`t mind but I`ve joined both your threads together here so that our replies can be in one place.

Sorry you`re getting a lot of stomach bloating, it must feel very uncomfortable, and losing your appetite isn`t good either.  Similar side effects with Harvoni treatment have been mentioned before, as Tig mentioned.  I would definitely talk to your doctor about it and see if he can suggest something to ease the problem.

In the meantime try to eat what you can when you can, small easily digestible meals are probably best.

Wishing you all the best of luck and do keep in touch!  ~ Jill

This is my 5th week of taking Harvoni.  I have noticed a considerable amount of bloating in my stomach area and I don't feel hungry.  Is anyone else experiencing this symptom?

Thank you.
