Bill,

There is plenty of evidence that lung disease may be one of the extrahepatic  manifestations of HCV. This is mostly an interstitial fibrosis or alveolitis which can cause asthma.  Interferon itself can cause unexplained asthma and alveolitis.

It's not particularly common, but is more likely in smokers.

A high resolution lung CT scan should give the answer, together with the usual pulmonary function tests. Cheers.

Hi Bill,

I'm not certain about that and will start digging. Perhaps Malcolm has some information on this. There seems to be several complaints about post treatment problems, especially with the Interferon protocols. Thanks for looking into it!

I have ran into a few people who were also on triple therapy, not my problem but asked me to find out if anyone else having problems with post symtoms of breathing, they say it feels like a 600 lb gorilla sitting on their chest, all are past a year. any thoughts, doctors told them that lungs were OK
