Hi Thomas,

Welcome to the group.  This is a great time to be treated.  The drugs available even a few years ago had very difficult side effects.  The meds available to us now are much easier to live with.  I wish you all the best with your treatment.

Welcome Thomas, almost all here understand the "tired" you speak of. Getting rid of the virus should help, though it may take time. Good luck with your tx.

Hello Thomas,

Thanks for introducing yourself, I'm glad you found our forum. You'll be welcomed by many along the way.

I'm sorry you're feeling so tired, but it's one of the biggest problems we seem to be plagued by due to this disease. The good news is, it will improve over time, once you successfully treat it. The protocol you mentioned has been prescribed for a few different genotypes and lengths of treatment. Can you tell me what you know about your situation? Do you know your genotype, viral load or any current test results, such as the AST and ALT or fibrosis level? That helps us understand your circumstances better and helps when replying. If you like, you can add some info to your signature line like many of us have. You can access that via your profile page.

The treatment you'll be undertaking can add to your fatigue. The Sovaldi has fewer side effects than most previous treatments , but the Ribavirin can cause some anemia and moodiness. Many of these side effects can be minimized by rest, proper diet and adequate hydration. Concentrate on hydration! 3-4 liters of good quality water EVERYDAY! I can't emphasize that enough. There are tips and recommendations we can provide along the way that will help you through it.

I'm glad you're here and wish you the very best. Stay in touch!

It's not so bad ... The RIBA can make you itchy, and moody, but nothing you can't handle, and knowing about it helps. There are many things you can do to minimize discomfort and tons on here for advice on things that work.

I worked all through two treatments with RIBA And never missed a day on either one. Sovaldi side effects are minimal.

You'll rock this!

I was diagnosed with Hep C years ago, but have only began to feel very tired most of the time. After many Doctor visit's and blood work, I was approved to start taking the  Solvaldi/Ribavirin combination. I am a little concerned about the side effect's, but anything has to be better than I've felt the last 3 years. Thank you for having this forum, and I am Glad to be a part of it !.
