I like the front end and bumper on the 70 camaro"s. Good looking cars. The 70 camaro would be my second choice on my camaro list that's for sure.    RC

Very Nice!!! I love those GM F-body cars. That 69 body was always my favorite but I never owned one. I have owned five: 70 Camaro Z28, 72 Camaro RS, 85 Camaro IROC, 96 Firebird, 96 TA WS6, and had a blast with them all. The only photos I have other than the TA is of the Firebird:

I love the car pics. Looking at classic and muscle cars makes me SO happy. (it's the little things).

My first car after I got out of treatment in 1991 and was no longer riding the pee wee herman schwinn was a 69 le mans that I named Grace (but for the Grace of God I' still be riding a bike).

That's great news RC. 3rd time's a charm and you even get to achieve SVR without dealing with Peg or Riba. I know you are happy about that. I'm really going to enjoy watching your progress as you finally kick that dragon's a**. SVR bound!!!

I love your rides! A car guy thread would be cool. Your 68 AMX reminds me of when I pulled a 390 out of a wrecked 68 AMX and built for a jeep CJ7 with a 304 V8 that I had years ago (photo attached). Here's my 96 Trans Am WS6 that I sold a couple of years ago and a couple of play toys we built when I was a few days younger. These days I'm driving this Caddy POS - what a drag! no

That's excellent RC! I'll be happy to retire this thread for you and follow you to the next and final round of treatment.

If you're going to be starting the Polaris 4 trial, I recommend you start your new thread in the Clinical Trial Participants section. That way people searching the forum for information on that trial, will find it easier. This is a great opportunity. Keep us informed, we'll be fixing up the Velpa Train for your upcoming 1st class journey to SVRville..... smile Good luck!

You two need to stop... I can't afford to follow those dreams anymore, boo hoo no I always wanted a 69 Z 28, RC. Had a 68 plain jane for about 6 months back in my Navy days. Didn't have the means to fix it up, so I sold that to someone that could do it justice. I worked in the ER and surgery for a few years and saw my share of bike accidents, so I didn't go that route either, even though had I been able to afford a HD, I may have opted for that freedom. Beautiful wheels you guys and even greater memories, I'm sure....

When i was a kid my next door neighbor had a 68 roadrunner, Orange with the 440 sixpac      It was a beautiful car!    I have a 1968 American Motors AMX  4-speed car, a real true two seater. also had my 69 Camaro you see in my avatar, its one of the few I have built and sold. I usually get to attached to the cars and wont sell them, some how the guy talked me right out of my camaro.  Thats the car my wife really liked to drive, it did drive well. and I also have a 50 Studebaker starlite coup-  really cool old car  and then there the 67 Datsun Roadster 1600  . Really not trying to boast here but I like my cars, and the enjoyment of keeping them all up.  RC

Thanks Jimmy.   Yes thats my 67 Plymouth gtx.  It arrived in 2005 in bucket"s at my home shop. 28 month"s later it was done. Did it at my home on a home built rotisserie. I will post a pic or two on that later in this thread.    The drug companys are really close to very good SVR rate for cirrhotic 3"s   I know it wont be long and I think I will get a Polaris 4 invitation.    RCF

Thanks Jill,Thanks Matt. The Gilead Polaris treatment trials going on now are taking a good look at type 3"s  and even harder look at W/Cirrosis in type 3"s. The treatment trial named Polaris 3  NCT02639338  (geno type 3 with prior DAA treatment at the ns5b site) is looking into a short course of SOF-VEL 8 weeks  vs  SOF-VEL-GS9857  12 weeks     If the 8 week SOF-VEL svr results are comprable to the 12 week SOF-VEL-GS9857 then Gilead has a new blockbuster combo that the insurance companys will buy.    If the 12 week arm SOF-VEL-GS9857 out preforms the 8 week SOF-VEL, then thay still hit it out of the ball park because if the svr is 95% or better in 12 weeks it will be the new recomended treatment for DAA"s  with prior treatment with SOF. It gets complacated but that"s why the drug companys do these trials.

Now on to Polaris 4.  (Type 3"s prior ns5b exposure W/cirrhosis)   SOF-VEL 12 weeks  VS   SOF-VEL-GS9857  12 weeks     Just the fact that they are considering the polaris 4 tells me that the 12 week SOF-VEL treatment had good svr results.

I hope I get an invatation into the Polaris 4          RC

Hey RC

In the near future that missing component / DDA that GT3A need to acheive SVR will be available, perhaps the new Gilead's Velpatasvir will be the one, or perhaps Regulus

These new combo's will give you new hope for your future, as your future has not been wrote yet.

Hi RC, I`m just catching up with what`s been going on with you, seems like I`ve missed a lot while I`ve been away from the forum!  Firstly I`m so sorry to hear about your relapse, what a shock and a disappointment!

Your time will come though, and once both of your toes are mended and healed you`ll soon be marching onwards towards your SVR.  smile

Best of luck to  you, I hope it all goes well!

I can see why too. One at a time is enough trauma on your system unless if both at once was needed in an emergency type situation. And getting around on one foot until you get healed is much easier/doable than with both feet out of commission. When I had surgery on both of my broken feet in 2014 I was bedbound with a bedpan for 3 months = not fun.

You work on getting that toe healed up and then get your left toe fixed up, and THEN we'll get you started on your 3rd and final treatment. One step at a time (pun intended) biggrin - You'll get there RC. Big Picture, Big Picture, Big Picture.

Yes, The same thing is going on in my left foot. I can have my left toe done in 4 months. They will only do one at a time, now I know why!! This would be a good time to start treatment round three.  RC

I'm glad you got it fixed. It reminds me of some of my past surgery and looks painful but that will pass. You'll be up and around better than before soon. Does "Hallux Ridigius" affect your left foot?

Hey RC,

I hate to ask ya, but we're going to need you back on the football field. The field goal kicker we hired to replace you just quit. Seems he couldn't keep up with your record! I hope they screwed those in tight. Training camp starts next week. See you there, lol! biggrin

Hi RC,

So glad the foot surgery went well, I hope it will make life a little easier in the future ... time to take it super easy and let your body heal right now. We're hoping that soon after you'll hear something regarding new treatment or trial.

Wishing you nothing but the best.

Take Care,

Dave

now I am laughing Ragdoll.....I put my foot in my mouth on that one. OK, enough of the foot/feet puns. Congrats on your SVR and we continue on our journey and well wishes for RC. March 2nd will be a big day for us both, my 12 weeks blood test EOT and RC's surgery.

Hi Ragdoll,

Congrats on your SVR, one down ... one to go ... smile

I know that it's often as rough on a spouse as it is for patient, my Jo tries not to show it but I know she worries enough for the both of us.

That's natural but it doesn't make it any easier.

You both know this but RC could not be going through this at a better time, the new and EXTREMELY effective DAA combos just recently available will have you both sitting on SVR soon. smilesmile

Take Care,

Dave

Hey there Christine and RC,

I am sorry to hear the bad news. But there is some good news also. There is the hope that you, RC, will be cleared of this virus. Me and my wife, believe that you will be cured. Please do not give up on the hope of living together and growing old with your wife. We are all in support of and for you.

Thank you EVERYONE, for your kind words and support for RC.  I am "Mrs RC" who as you see recently cleared the dragon.  This has been a long journey and RC has worked so hard.  I would not have had treatment if not for all of RC's research.   For those who don't know my story I was 4 weeks post Hip Replacement and I got the call for ABBVIE topaz trial.  I initially turned it down as I was recovery from hip surgery.  The doctor the next day called personally and said get over here you will be cured as a 1b, no cirrhois.   Slam dunk! Just do it!!!  So we  got in the car and drove 200 miles to get it going and it was easy and it worked!  January 2016 was 1 year SVR for me.     We were so hoping that RC would clear this time.  We have 2 great doctors on the Team and Tuesday back to Seattle for hopefully some new option....hopefully he can join those on the SOF/VEL + GS 9857 train.!!!!  RC. HAS fought so hard and this last treatment really beat him down and played havoc with his type II Diabetes on the Peg interferon.   Sugars very hard to control, which was even more important at this time as he needed to keep A1 C below 8 for 3 months before 2 foot surgeries we postponed to participate in the trial.   (Mallani your thoughts on the Diabetes and treatment for type 3's) Not only did he fell like _ _ _ _ he can hardly walk.  (foot problem not related to diabetes..its arthritis).  Wendy,  we had a good laugh when you said " Put one foot in front of other" as we prepare for first foot surgery March 2nd.  Both feet need big toes fused and each surgery requires no weight on foot for 3 months, thus walking with scooter or crutches.  So this is our next ADVENTURE along with Round 3!?!?!    AND THE BEAT GOES ON!!!.  Thanks again to all of you and your support and prayers are appreciated .   GOD BLESS THIS FORUM!!

Greetings,

That we were all hoping for better news goes without saying. Regardless of the number of times, a relapse sometimes is an extremely lonely feeling.

But as you know, you are not alone. I screen tomorrow for Sofosbuvir/Velpatasvir/GS-9857 and it looks quite promising.

Whereas The Dragon may be stubborn, so much more so are we. It is worth discussing the above option with your Doctor. I have been "shopping" my next attempt pretty extensively and questioned every option. Harvoni / Lep = RBV x 24. Zep/RBV x 16 both looked promising. The Sof/Vel/GS-9857 just seemed a bit more promising even though it remains in trail while the other two are released.

Regardless, options are raining like leaves in the early Fall right now and Victory is in sight for each of us.

Hang in there brother and God Bless!

JimmyK

Hi,

I got your email and read the posts.

I am so sorry. I am really disappointed for you, after all your hard work. But hard work is never wasted, what has been learned in your two tries, will help get it right for round 3.

You made a promise to me a while back ... Now ... it is MY turn to make a promise to you .... I will be witness to your cure!

Small comfort to know we are ALL on your side, your doc included, until you are free.

They will get this right! The only uncooperative part is that god-dam 3a.

I am really waiting with baited breath, what your doc next week will want to consider for you, and, to know what you are thinking yourself what the drug choice will be, to finally totally wipe this thing out completely.

Mallani, your docs and likely you, already have drugs in mind. I have no idea which you will go to but there seem to be a multitude of choices (older and newer) - I do not know which they will be for you - but I really wonder if you will now get some of the newer school stuff.

All depends, doesn't it - on your particular needs - but maybe the "review" will cover Zepitair with sof, or sof/dac/rbv, or a sof/vel double/triple??

I'd love to be sharing the GT3a ride with you on the velpa train. But, you all have to figure out what 5A,5B, 3/4A and/or "other" you are going to be looking for.

Drug pickin/figuring starts next week! Until then, try not to give in to sad, if anything, be mad. This much work is just NOT FAIR!

Your pal, Canuck
