Greeting folks and a great and Happy Friday to y'all ! wink

I just got a call from the nurse standing in for my Doctor and quite frankly she kind of makes me nervous.

She called and apologized they have kind of dropped the ball where ordering and following up on tests are concerned. I said it was no problem and not to worry herself.

She then went on to say she had just gotten the results. (You know the ones I posted below a few days back. LOL)

She then went on to say "....but the good news is you are negative...."

I was nice and stated, "Well if we are looking at the same test, namely the last one taken no I am not, I am at 115."

She went silent, fumbled around a bit and then conceded I was correct and then took on a tome like a dark cloud had just engulfed the entire sky.

"Oh no we really wanted you to be negative by now when is your next test?"

I responded with, "well you handed me the orders and I have an appointment for Dec 15th."

She seemed alarmed about the 115 and that after announcing me clear.

Did I get a lemon?  LOL

Hi Jimmy,

I agree with Tig that you have nothing to worry about with those results.  The main thing they demonstrate quite clearly is that the treatment is doing its job, and doing it well!

You`re a good man doing your best not to scare your wife as she approaches her own time to start treatment, you sound like a very loving and caring couple.   I wish her all the best, and you know that if she would like to join the forum too we would give her a very warm welcome.

Keep doing what you`re doing, it`s all looking good!!  smile

Greetings Tig and many thanks for your input.

I gave serious thought to redacting my personal information and then I considered all the Junk Mail I get addressed to me. Makes me feel like everyone knows me so what the heck. I feel privacy has gone out the window a long time go and as a 6'4" Redhead who rides a Harley pretty much wherever I go, well let's just say stealth has never been one of my strong points. LOL

I am pleased indeed but to be honest my interpretation skills are pretty fair but always grateful for another set of eyes that knows what they are talking about.

I am trying to be careful and as informed as possible because my beloved wife of 38 years also has The Dragon yet Gen2. She is extremely nervous about starting treatment and won't see the Doctor for her first visit until Dec 18th. I have to be her strength where she is weak because it is only right to return the favor she has so often blessed me with. She is watching me pretty closely and I must be an encouragement.

LOL sometimes when I realize she is waking up for some reason I fake like I am sleeping so she does not concentrate on my sleeplessness.

I will continue the updates and next blood draw is Dec 16th.

Thanks for the review and it will help me explain properly to her.

JimmyK now known as you know who.   LOL

Jimmy,

I should've mentioned that the the two RNA tests listed are identical, they list the results differently is all. The Log results are old school and for some reason they keep listing it.  The only reason it says the results are high is because they consider anything above 0 or undetected, as high. Not to worry...

Hi Jimmy,

You had a pre treatment viral load of 3.88 million and now it is 115 IU/ml. That's a 4.53 Log drop in your viral load, that's HUGE. Even though you're not undetected yet, there's plenty of time and you should meet that goal easily. The drugs are in the mop up phase now, don't worry about it. I'm confident that you'll be undetected next test, if you're not already.

We often see the ALT/AST fluctuate during treatment, it's very common. The positive piece of information is they are within normal limits! The Hgb and Hct look fine, relax. I think you should be pleased with these results, I would be! It's a marathon, not a sprint and from my viewpoint, I can see a good finish ahead! Hang in there....

Greeting y'all, I hope each of you are doing well.

My test results have been somewhat fumbled in that I will begin week 8 of 12 this Thursday and just now finally got some information to share. The information I have gathered from this web site leaves me a little unsure on how I should view my results.

In a nut shell and also attached if anyone cares to review further.

1) HCV RNA Real Time PCR remains high at 115. ( I assume coming from a number close to 4,000,000 the indication is improvement but that is about it.) Certainly not UND.

2) HCV RNA Quantitative Real Time PCR remains high at 2.06

3) The ALT and AST are interesting as the tests shows an immediate drop to 19 each at week two yet climbing upward week 4 and week six. Last week they settled at 52 and 37 respectively. Both inside normal boundaries but I can't help but feel I wish they had stayed at 19 as that would have been significant.

4) HGB has dropped to low at 13.1

5) HCT has dropped to low at 39.3

There is a side of me that notes clear improvement but the other side says I am less that impressed and wonder if this stuff is doing it's thing properly and should I hang in there for another series of 5 weeks remaining of this sleeplessness?

Experts, is this normal? I have attached the test pages so that progression can be seen from one test to the next. Chem dates 4/17/15, 4/23/15, 10/29/15, 11/12/15 and most recent 11/17/15. (Freaken Vampires! No wonder I am so tired, LOL)

I greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Have a great day y'all!

JimmyK
