Ah yes... "...a steamer from Yokohama to Plymouth would also do nicely, with Cream playing "Tales of brave Ulysses" in the dining hall..", now that sounds like a journey I would enjoy too!

Everyone is in too much of a rush these days and life is lived in the fast last for many, unfortunately!  Not me, I`m old school..  smile

Thanks Jill,

well, the train thing will happen, but the "soon" is on a HepC timescale. I grew up in Germany, but I have lived the last quarter century in the east.
I have been on far too many flights to and fro, and I do not like to fly, certainly not as a passenger. So this is where this transsiberian train idea was born,
after 11 hours in the air, with a jetlag, in a traffic jam, on a rainy autobahn.
Of course, a steamer from Yokohama to Plymouth would also do nicely, with Cream playing "Tales of brave Ulysses" in the dining hall, but these things
have vanished from the face of the earth, sadly.

I will update, sure!

What excellent news, Tom, congratulations!!  You did it, one more dead dragon here!!  biggrin 

What a relief for you, so many of us here have been through that emotional rollercoaster waiting to hear the news, I remember that feeling very well!!

Way to go Tom! You killed that dragon and came out smelling like a rose. There will be many others hoping to follow your exact footsteps. Congrats are in order and a big SVR-12 party too. You are now a bonified member of the dragon slayers club. Hep C free it is.

Hi Gracie & Tig & All,

Thanks for the kind words.

I must be living right? I used to enjoy certain liquids produced in Scotland and Bavaria,
in a rather amateurish fashion, though. The HepC Dx in 2014 put a complete stop to this, and I lost 5 kg.
Otherwise I did not do a thing to earn it.

I do plan to take a train from Shanghai to London soon, passing through Beijing and Berlin,
but I doubt very much that ride will outshine the one I just took.

Congratulations Tom! That's an excellent way to start my day! You made it through with barely a scratch, you must be living right. Sounds like your Dragon saw what you were going to throw at it and just decided to leave without too much fighting and screaming. Few side effects, especially with the Ribavirin was a blessing for you. That has to be one of your treatment highlights. That, along with the ultimate prize of SVR12, qualifies as an early St Patricks Day "Pot O Gold"! Enjoy your Hep free life, you earned it...

That's awesome! SVR 12 is the end of the train ride. So happy for you. And how lucky to have no sides through treatment. I did have some sides but nothing I couldn't handle.

Hi All

just back from my hepatologist, 12 weeks post treatment, all looking good:

VL undetected < 15, ALT 21, AST 21, GGT 23, platelets 206.

Psychology is an interesting field. My draw was on Feb 22nd. I went through 12 weeks of Harvoni & Riba without any sides, 

just a little more grumpy than usual. No post Harvoni syndrome either. But the wait for this VL was 

really bad. I called after a week, was told that they run PCR only once a week, mine was an hour too late. They had the ALT and AST,

so I thought no problem, should be UD. But still,  another week of waiting. Obsessive behavior sets in: Instead of going for a nice

walk, I spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon going through the book of abstracts of the CROI conference. Difficult to sleep:

the better the overall chances, the larger the slight chance of relapse looms ...

But all went well!!!

This place here is very helpful indeed, thanks to all.
