Ditto what everybody says. Your knowledge can't be replaced. You helped us treatment failures more than you'd know. Having a medical ear and advice was invaluable to us old timers.

Good news is that your stepping down at a time when these new mostly uneventful treatments are quickly replacing what use to be long, arduous and mostly unsuccessful treatments. It must warm your heart to have seen the progress that's been made, and how much your help got us all through.

Happy times - thanks Malcolm.

Hi Malcolm,

just wanted to express my gratitude for the professional knowledge and empathy that you have brought to this forum. When I started treatment you were giving up hours on a daily basis and it made a huge difference to my understanding of the disease as well as making me aware that I could and should take responsibility for my own treatment. The empowerment I experienced then was something that I will take on any health issue I might have in the future.

You will be simply irreplaceable.

On my own behalf, and on behalf of countless others, thank you for what you have given us here.

I was wondering what happened to Malcom, bless, I have to say he deserves his retirement and freedom to enjoy life.

I am glad that era of Hep C is over, but also happy that Malcom finished his journey.

Hey Malcolm

Wow! we all new this day would come sometime but it's a major loss for the forum and its members. Realizing that time flys and circumstances move on for all of us we can look back and realize that any of the current and past members that shared his time on the forum in the last four years benefited to an extreme degree in HCV insight. Having an actual trained Doctor that actually could give insight from his own Hep-C experience was priceless.

Malcolm did more than just give advice, he show us the way to recover and stay active and take responsibility for our decisions during treatment and after treatment. It was like having a personal friend that was a HCV expert. Having the opportunity and pleasure to meet Malcolm and his wife last year was not a disappointment, he's a great golfer and has a interesting intelllect and knows how to have a good time. Having a Aussie on the forum is always a good thing they just seem to be honest and up front.

Wishing all the best in your coming years, and hope to visit your neighborhood in the coming years.

Nooooooo! Oh no! Don't goooooo! Jeesh, ya turn yer back fer just one blinkin' minute ... and all hell breaks loose!! How did THIS happen!! Can't be! Mallani gone? - I don't believe it - he will have to prove me wrong.

Oh you know well, how sorely you will be missed, how keenly your absence will be felt. And how well we appreciate you (and your experience, wisdom, talents, kindness and help to all of us). And, that we understand too, how long you have been at this.

Like all the others, I have to express my utmost heartfelt appreciation for you. Thank you.

Wishing you only the very best, always. smile  C.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Apart from Jill, all the members who helped me through treatment have long gone.

It's been an absolute pleasure being on the Forum and I'm going to miss checking in 2 or 3 times a day.

Thankfully the days of my old treatment have gone, and I hope present and future members have an easy ride to SVR.

A lot of my 'Stickies' are now obsolete and perhaps they can removed in time.

My parting words are 'ASK QUESTIONS' of your doctors. If you've had HepC for 20+ years, insist on getting Fibrosis staging done prior to treatment.

Best wishes to all , especially the Moderators. CHEERS!!

Thank you Malcolm,

In the short time I have been here it was always the greatest pleasure to read your posts and learn from your vast experience.

Enjoy your leisure and you will be missed.

Take care!

On a secondary note I made this post about 14 minutes after the initial one and pressed show preview instead of Submit post ... I have no excuses but will think of one

You are going to be missed around hear Malcolm. You have been a beacon in the dark for so many folks on this forum. Like Jimmy k  said-- you tell it the way it is!  Thank you!   I hope you check in once and a while. I have always (wanted to know what Malcolm thinks about it) and will miss your take on things.  You never missed on my situation, good advice.

See you around Malcolm, RC

Malcom, on my request you read my lab results and responded with a no nonsense interpretation. That assisted me greatly when speaking with my Doctor. I was able to come from a position of knowledge and not simply sit there nodding my head.

When everyone else was saying no problem continue on, you came in and politely labeled it a definite breakthrough and said stop immediately. As always, you were spot on.

But you are now living with a happy liver and enjoying the great things in life. Grandkids!

You are an inspiration and brother to all here.

May God richly bless you and yours. You have certainly blessed us with your presence.

Respectfully

JimmyK

Dear Malcolm,

I`m very sad that you`re leaving the Admin team, but after so many years of service to this forum you really do deserve to leave all this behind and spend your time enjoying your well earned retirement and having fun with your wonderful family.   We`ve been very lucky indeed to have had the benefit of your wisdom, knowledge and support over the last few years, and I thank you with all my heart for everything you`ve done here.

Your friendship has meant a lot to me, and if ever you find yourself over here in the UK you know that you and your lovely wife would be most welcome to visit me, it would be a great pleasure to meet up again.

You`ll be sorely missed here, more than words can say, but I`m happy with the thought that you`ll be out in the world, living life to the full.

That`s what retirement is all about, after all!  smile

And if you find time to pop in now and again, you know how welcome you`ll always be here.

Wishing you much happiness...  Jill xx

Hi Malcolm,

Your "Rock Steady", informed and thoughtful wisdom has been a blessing for ALL of us during your tenure as Admin here.

Your stepping down as Moderator brings with it mixed emotions, your guidance will certainly missed but it's also so very wonderful to see you enjoying your renewed health and the joys of family, friends and the outdoors.

I too hope you drop in from time to time but totally get that you need to Carpe Diem and enjoy life ... smile

No words can possibly express how much we all appreciate you, your sharing of knowledge, your caring ways and the warmth that you bring ...

... now get out there and ENJOY LIFE!!

Hi Everyone,

Today, I'm faced with the duty of announcing that our friend and Admin Team member "Mallani" (Malcolm) will be stepping down as Moderator. He has been a member of our forum since March of 2012 and has provided endless support and assistance to the membership during his time here.

As a Hep Warrior with multiple treatments under his belt, his experience with them and the lessons learned, have benefited us all. That help has been priceless. He has strived to provide the best and most current advice from a personal and professional standpoint. We can all thank him for helping us live happier and healthier lives as a result of his knowledge and concern.

I won't be the only one to announce that he will be irreplaceable in the eyes of everyone that have been lucky enough to know him. You should know how much we appreciate everything you have done for us individually and as a group Malcolm. Please continue to check in and share your wealth of knowledge and good humor when you have time. I know you'll be enjoying the boat, a good round of golf and of course, those grandchildren with Lani and Rusty. Have fun Mate!

As you always say, "Cheers"....

Tig
