Are they just worms on steroids Lori, or are they a different species?

And yes they look totally gross.

Nice cat Lori! When you mentioned tornado, I thought you were after the neighbor again, lol! Next time use explosives, the big ones are down deep, he, he... Sorry you got finned, that does hurt. I guess you showed it though wink

despite getting horned, glad you got to get out and do something you enjoy. Little by slowly the riba will vacate your body/mind and you will be you again.

Wow Lori,

ten out of ten for going back Sunday. That catfish looks mean.

What IS a night crawler?? Sounds totally gross and it's comforting to know that they gross you out too.

So great to hear that you are already well enough to be picking up the reins of your passions and hobbies and giving them a good shake.

Syd

my day of fishing was cut short Saturday, only caught 2 very small catfish before the tornado came through lol Spent the evening and most of the night helping remove trees from roads and checking power lines that were reported down. The perks of being on a fire dept...blah!

went fishing again Sunday and only caught a 29lb catfish, which horned me and hurt like no other. Riba is still present cause I wanted to throat punch the fish after that and gave up on taking the hook out due to being so mad haha! Told the guys to take it and weigh it and just let me know the weight LOL I kept fishing til about 2 am hoping I was gonna hook a bigger fish but only caught more small ones and got robbed of bait by aggravating bluegill countless times. I caught the 29 pounder using chicken liver that I left out in the sun for 2 days soaked in moonshine. It was some rank stuff that nearly made me puke everytime I baited my hook but it works lol I ran out of bait at around 11 and just as an effort to payback a bluegill for robbing me I put some bubble gum on my hook and threw it in and caught a catfish! Can u believe that?!?!? I still can't! Crazy fish lol A young boy that was down the lake from me ended up joining me and shared his night crawlers with me after that lol Btw I hate night crawlers!!!! Yuck! Listen..I have no problem baiting my own hook but geez! Those things just gross me out! They wiggle too much lol I don't care to touch them but that moment when the hook pierces them they go into a wiggle fit and it's that very thing that just freaks me out! Girly I know but give me a little credit for actually doing it... It takes me a min to bait it but I get it done LOL!

Posting a pic of the hateful thing that horned me lol

i hope all of u ladies had a great Mothers Day!!!!!

Hi Lori,

so pleased to hear that your symptoms are disappearing. (Although you were a very entertaining riba taker - I think we should have a special post devoted to the best of the best Ribaviron stories and a couple of yours would be right up there. )

Seriously though, it's not a fun place to be and I'm still getting occasional licks of it if I'm tired or something unexpectedly irritating happens. But basically feeling more like the self you're used to is very reassuring and let's hope it's all been worth it when those results come in.

Syd

Hi Lori, glad to hear you are feeling better and see a difference so soon.   That is a good sign.  It's been over a year for me and I still have moments where I say to my self I couldn't have done that or remembered that.  Then there are days when I go what the heck was I trying to do... And I didn't do RIBA..  I think it's just my age now!  I am going with that!!

Hope you enjoy your fishing and have a great day.  CC

Hi Lori

Your feeling so good so soon after treatment! That's a sign of good thing to come, because your just going to keep feeling better each week. You kept busy and kept moving during treatment and it's paying off now. My goal is to drift fish the Yakima river in Ellesburg WA as soon as I get put back together again.   I have cat-fished the Yakima river for cats and done well.  Like they have said, watch that sun exposier . I'm several months out from my last RIBA and I react to the sun still, 20 min in the full sun and I'm burnt .  It was the same on my first treatment, it's like you turn into a sun shine wick and burn/turn red quick.

Congrats again on finishing treatment! I remember all the flack you took from second in command at work. You hung in there and got it done.

Good luck fishing, post a pic of your catch!!   RC

Hi Lori,

I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better. It will continue to improve every week. I hope you remember to bring your sunscreen today. The Riba hangs on for months, albeit with fewer sfx, but the sun sensitivity lasted the longest in my case. Remember your UV sunglasses too!

Good luck fishing today, that sounds like fun. I'm glad that you're getting the chance to start enjoying life and able to remember it, lol! No fish tales, but the big one that got away is an acceptable story in the fishing world, ha, ha! Enjoy!!

And it gets better as the riba will take some time to be totally gone. You should try baiting your hook with dead dragon meat. biggrin

 Happy mothers day! smile

Just a week since tx ended and I already feel like a new person. I actually organized my shoe closet today along with a huge box of nail polish and not one shoe got thrown, nor a bottle of polish brokenbiggrin I also haven't walked circles around the house trying to remember what I was doing. I can still tell the riba is present but it's definitely eased up on my temper and memory and with that I'm happy!

I'm treating myself to some much needed fishing tomorrow since i haven't been any this year yet and I hope I catch a catfish big enough to drag me in! Here's to the fishing gods being in my favor and making that happen! Haha!
