Hi all,

Even folks with genotype 3a, stage 4 cirrhosis, HIV+ and 2 failed attempts with PegInterferon & Ribavarine can achieve succes with these new meds.  My latest lab results confirm that 3 months post treatment I am HCV free, my 20 year battle is over and I feel good.  Not James Brown-like I feel good but sleeping well again, feeling alert, and having more energy than I've had in years. So, lots to be thankful for.  As always my appreciation for this page, users and information and support here.  Another one slays the dragon smile

OMG a huge congratulations Jake, that is great news!!!! Next will be the curing H.I.V, I read there is a lot of progress and they are sure now they can cure the other dragon in a few years. That is a huge weight lifted for you as I read co-infected progress up the fibro scale much faster. Gosh, u deserve this SVR especially after two attempts at the old regieme - shudders. It is always so good to hear that another G3 cures, and I like the sound of energy too, I'm happy for you. Just think, your liver has already started its healing, what can be better than that!! :D

Hi JakeAms,

Thank you so much for keeping us updated on you.

So nice you are doing well!

From a fellow 3a, I am especially pleased for you, that your 24 weeks of sof/dac/riba did the trick, especially given how much real hard work you did, prior to that, to get there.

Really nice for you (and all of us). Congrats! smile C.

Way to go JB. Congratulations on your excellent news!!! It looks like the Sov/Dac/Riba was just what you needed to finally kick that dragon's ass. It's harder to achieve SVR for us co-infected cirrhotic prior relapsers but we are both proof that it can be done. That's just awesome!

SVR PARTY TIME!!!

Hey JB,

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

What a journey you have traveled, finally achieving the goal you have fought so hard for. You may not be having that James Brown moment right now, but there's no reason you can't polish your dancing shoes for future use!
