Hi Katya,

HCV is well known for the many problems and ways it can manifest itself. Many times these issues happen before diagnosis and a resolution evades the patient because HCV wasn't originally tested for. When the immune system starts working overtime and various other maladies start to occur, our body goes wild. Body systems are affected differently and you end up with leg cramps, abdominal pain, headaches, weakness, depression, insomnia, kidney trouble, I could keep going but you get it. When this happens one at a time, it's bad. When they hit you all at once, you're now living a miserable existence. So many here can relate to the last. Good thing is successful treatment (SVR) will help turn things around. We may never feel brand new, but gently used is okay with me!

Here's a link with some stories and solutions from those in a similar position. You may find some helpful ideas there. No product endorsement implied.

Hi Katya,

yes the leg cramps!! I had forgotten all about them. I had them before treatment too. With such amazing improvement in so many areas, I'm sure you'll do the next 8 weeks easily. I too began with the same combo - RIBA, Sovaldi and Daklinza. The RIBA was the one which caused so many side effects, the other two were easy.

how good to hear that after such a horrible, long journey you are riding the highway to victory!!

Your treatment will be finished a you begin to out your Christmas decorations up.

Hi Katya,

I AM SO GLAD to hear you are undetected at 16 weeks! Good for you!

Like tig said, you MUST complete all 24 weeks of treatment.

How are you feeling on the treatment drugs now??

I recall what a horrid start you had, at first, likely due to the riba.

Please remind me, did you get taken off the riba (due to not being able to tolerate it), and instead they then had you continue on for a 24 week treatment of just the sofa/dac instead?

Hi!

Oh guys , I went through hell...

As you remember I started terrible itch on ribetola (back then it was presumably)

I stop taking riba and the next 7 days and I took daklinza sovaldi..itching did not stop.

All three doctors -hepatologist allergist and family told me to stop taking all the pills for three weeks and then begin to take each one to find out for what  medicine  make me  itch.

So I stop taking everything .

But the nightmare was continued.

If I ate something sweet I'm was  starting to itch.

I left only buckwheat mashed pumpkin and  water .

One week I took prednisolone  equals  antihistamines do not help me.

After the  finish  prednisolne I got sick angina( sore throat)-start  take Antibiotics..

Also I continued to use elokom.

Then I started to have strong pain in the lumbar ( 4 days)

I started to feel well after 5 weeks after the  cancel  of all tablets.

August 19 I started taking 1 daklinza  morning  and 1 sovaldi  evening .

So I keep!

I can eat sweet, nothing itches

The  leg cramps stopped , I have to suffer for this almost two years.

At first magnox 500 helped me but then stopped.

I forgot about the leg cramps  two months ago .

Also over three years I had rosacea-all my face was in acne.

Over two years i have struggled with this, but but nothing helped.

A month my face perfect like many years ago!

My conclusion-rosacea and leg cramps were the consequences of hepatitis C.

I won!!smile

Guys, i want to say thank you to all!

It was very difficult but it's worth it

Katya,

Echo Echo: DON'T STOP NOW.  This is a sneaky virus that can hide out in fat cells, liver cells, and other tissues.  We stay on treatment after undetected to kick the little buggers in the teeth as they sneak out .

Did I mention?  DON'T STOP.  Please and thank you.

Cheddy

Hi Katya,

Congratulations on your undetected news! That's the best news I've heard all day.

You should finish the entire treatment!!!!! Don't stop now. They prescribe different lengths of treatment to assure total exposure to the drugs for a prescribed amount of time. Almost everyone is undetected at some point during treatment, but that doesn't mean it's gone yet. Stopping before you should, can result in relapse and the development of a resistant variant. That can present problems if you had to retreat. Finish treatment and you'll be successful, if you don't, your odds go way down. Stay the course. Good luck!
