Well, I've had a number of blood tests and all including bilirubin are within parameters.

Just the B12 and lower platelets are amiss.  If I recall a test 3 years ago indicated the same regarding the B12.

Perhaps it has something to do with the earlier diagnosis of cirrhosis.

NHS seem to be uninterested.

I guess I'll just keep having regualr tests and see what happens.

There are any number of causes that could be responsible. It seems like they develop a new drug to reverse the symptoms you’re having, instead of determining the cause. I get tired of all of these pharmaceutical commercials. The list of ugly side effects seem to trump the original use!

That said:

You should contact a Hepatologist and get scheduled for a full battery of tests, including an updated Fibroscan. As we age there are things changing with regularity. That doesn’t necessarily mean your liver is acting up, but if something is, you need to find out.  Isn’t that an understatement? smile The important thing is to take the lead, and find out. Sadly, medical care has become a money pit for corporate interests. When you find a good doctor keep them as long as you can!

Hi All,

I cleared sometime back now and have been getting on with life.

I had some very good news 4 years ago when both my platelets and fibroscan result were all normal.

However, I had some bloods completed recently and my platelets have dropped down to 127 and my B12 levels are 1028.

ALT is 29, last time it was checked it was 17.  Pre treatments up in the 90s.

Years ago I had a fibroscan of 14, which then dropped down to 6 after some years SVR.

I was told that I had cirrhosis back in 2014.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience in the causes of elevated B12 levels?

regards
