Has anyone with Geno 1 failed to achieve sustained virologic response after 90 days of S/O treatment? I am about to complete my first 30 days of treatment. Anxious to see lab results next week. Side effects have been minimal. Dull headache, some lethargy.
I am truly grateful to be UNDETECTED going into week 11. Today is an amazing day. I'm experiencing no sides today...just feeling MARVELOUS! However, I am curious to know the relapse rate.
Hi! I finished treatment on June 13th and did the viral load test and came back undetected as well. I called my doc the other day and asked when I should come in to be tested he said 3 months from the end of treatment. Guess he's waiting til the last possible date to test. It'll be a long wait .. Ugh. Anyway .. J...

I am at third day (about 48 hours) on thriple tx with incivo.First night, (8 hours after injection) : I chilled for 2 hours and it has past. At second day i had little muscle and joint pains. And now at third day. I have about NOTHING. is it normal? I am confused about tx is working or not???
I thought this was interesting because it illuminates that there are more expensive treatments than HepC tx ($300,000. per year for a cystic fibrosis drug) and all but one state (Arkansas) is paying for those on Medicaid who need it. Arkansas is being sued for civil rights violations for its refusa...
Just wanted to wish Huey the best of luck for his gallbladder surgery tomorrow! I believe they will be doing a liver biopsy while they are at it, right? Keep us posted, Huey.
When I was diagnosed with Hep C, I received a letter from the State of MI stating that I was on the registry of infection diseases. On my first visit to the Hepatologist, I was treated as if I had done something so terrible that some how I deserved this life sentence. I also found it hard to find anyone will...
Just want to compare Sx's and possible solutions. I'm also on Tx taking Sovaldi / Ribavirin although that may be irrelevant concerning food digestion / constipation etc.
Hi all, I'm a little over 2 weeks on the Merck 1 pill combo phase 3 trial. The coordinator thinks I'm not on the placebo as my labs have been responding. I haven't had any side effects other than a strange headache the 1st week which is now gone. I have however had a LOT more energy than I can remember in qu...
Dear All, I would like to say hi to everyone and introduce myself and my situation in short. A month ago I started having low grade fever in the evenings and mornings, to which fatigue was added further. The doctors have done loads of blood tests and found CMV, EBV and Hep C in my blood. Hep C was confirmed w...
Hello all. New member here from Boise, Idaho. I likely became infected in the early 90s and will be seeing a doctor next week to discuss treatment options. I had a liver biopsy a few months ago and there was no cirrhosis. I am unsure of what to expect, so I joined this forum to compare notes, learn a bit and c...
hello Hep C friends, I have two days of RIBA pills left. My eyes are on fire, burning stinging itching. my lower lids hurt too. It's awful. any one had this happen? suggestions ?
To everyone about to start riba/interferon with or without oral drugs: the risk greatly outweighs any potential gain, regardless of the golden Sovaldi as a kicker. Im not speaking from experience, but rather extensive research and first hand testimonies from multiple sources. Im 9 days into the...

Went to the trial center to check in. Been on the Merck combo for 15 days. Since it's a blinded study I didn't know if I've been on placebo or real thing. Trial coordinator is pretty sure it's the real thing since my liver enzymes have dropped by about 50%. They've never been very high anyway, but I che...
I was so excited when I realized it was Wednesday and Law & Order SVU is on! Waited until about 9:30 to go watch it (so I could fast forward through commercials) ... get into the living room, can't for the life of me figure out why the dish won't turn on... got off the couch to do it manually, still nothin...
I am a 46 year old man with who has been HIV+ for several years, last year I also contracted Hep C. I was in pain as if i had pneumonia which is what alerted the hospital. Although I was advised that i must have treatment in order to have any chance of clearing the infection. Having had fiends who were i...

The good news is that Gilead is talking about not pricing Ledipasvir as high as Sovaldi: "Another Gilead executive, Paul Carter, suggested the company may not price ledipasvir as high as Sovaldi, saying the "majority of value" in its combination with Sovaldi would be in Sovaldi....

When you think of fatty liver disease you may think of someone sitting on the couch watching tv and eating bon bons all day. Unfortunately, HepC is linked to fatty liver disease, and about 40% of hepc sufferers have fatty liver disease. A small study showed that eating healthy and exercising can not...
Hi everyone.... my name is Kim and I've been living with Hep C since I was 12 years old, I'm 25 now. I recently had some bloodwork done and have results from my AST and ALT and are not sure what they mean. Two years ago in 2012 my AST was 16 IU/L.. My bloodwork from yesterday shows my AST as 28 IU/L. My ALT in 2012...
I ran the Peachtree Road Race 10K on July 4th, as I do almost every year. It occurred to me that I have never run this or any other race virus free, at least not since high school. The irony is that I was considerably faster 2 years ago, prior to tx and with undiagnosed cirrhosis. I'll take being slow and rid...
