Hi all.   Had a good visit yesterday with the Dr.  Were backing off the prenazone to 15mg. Changed one liquid crappy tasting yellow antibiotic to a pill that will do the same thing as the yellow stuff. Thats a great victory for me. I dont mind all the other med's,its just that one liquid antibiotic,it's foul tasting. The blood draw we were going over looks really good. After just 5 vosevi my LFT's are dropping fast.  ALT from 348 to 160      AST from 151 to 19    Thanks VOSEVI.  This stuff is kicking the dragons ass. We will do a Quant count possibly next week.I expect to be UND at the next blood draw .  Thats a switch from my last two trials. It took 9 weeks to go UND on the first trial (sof/riba X16 weeks)and the second trial it took 7 weeks or so.  (Sof/riba/peg X12 weeks)  On the  POLARIS 5 trial I'm on (VOSEVI X 12weeks) the LFT's are coming down fast. Cant wait to see the numbers from the next blood draw. They took out about 1/4 of the staples, I  sterry striped those spots, and a few other spots, im not taking any chances. My blood work did not show any signs of rejection, everything is on track.  Im feeling better and stronger each day.   Talk to you all later.  RC

Check in with the results, RC. I'm curious to know what they are, too. Hopefully you can get those staples out today. I imagine they must be getting a tad bit tender by now. You had a significant incision, no doubt. Anything that starts at your throat, goes to your belly button and then around to each kidney, must be tender! Steady as she goes, Mate!

Good day all-   Im heading to the Liver Center to go over the results of Sunday's blood draw. They diden't call me yesterday so i suspect everything is on track. It was 3 weeks ago today I got my transplant liver. We seem to have hit it off pretty well. Its doing its job and im doing my job- Meds on time- taking it easy to let things heal up. No rejection so far. The Dr's tell me that I most likely will have some rejection at some point, but that they can knock it down fast and easy. I'm not going to reject anything!!  No way.  I think the zipper comes off today?

Im feeling good, can't believe it's been 3 weeks. It has not been easy by any means-but it could have been a lot worst.   RC

Dang right! You aren't traveling no track nor train by your lonesome! I'll be in the Club Car, along with everyone else, the tab's on me! If'n you need help getting up those stairs, Canuck said she'd pick you up and throw you over her shoulder. She's one of those tough, strong lumberjack types Canada is known for. I'm better suited to swimsuits and sun tan oil. I traded in my muscle for Coppertone and a beer belly... biggrin

Oh, RC, I remember well the great comfort you gave me, seeing me off on my Vosevi journey last year. I too was feeling quite alone at times while waiting for and then getting on the train, and all those trips to the trial, I never did identify/meet any of my trial mates - there were only 5 seats! Small train, and they didn't let me sit down in the car very long either! And as you put it, back then, I was lucky to pull the right straw, the short "a little dab 'll do ya" 8 week Vosevi triple arm vs the 12 week arm without vox.

I will keep you company, we all will!, we'll be in the caboose checking on things.

Enjoy the quiet while you can, a roomy first class private seat, put your feet up for a leisurely 12 weeks of triple magic.

Maybe "Dax" will end up jumping on your train at the end, or maybe he'll get on the next train after?

So, one poke ot two today? One I hope. : )  C.

RC,

... "I will get to SVR this time" ....

YES, you will!! You got the just right magic combo now, the best drugs and the loveliest equipment to do it with.

Full steam ahead - I love your powerful avatar.

Happy labs tomorrow, you said you were having a draw on a Sunday? Hope they get it first poke.

Gonna be a lot of excited people around here if we glean any downward LFT/VL trends this early. Fingers and toes and everything crossed for ya, but it is early days, day 5?, but hey, we all hope there are some indications that it is already starting. It HAS started, labs will catch up, if not this set, then the next or the next, I am sure.

It WILL happen!

We are all willing it! with every fiber of our being. xo C.

After two train rides , first one being sof/riba,second one being sof/riba/peg , I'm ready to get started on my third and last treatment. It's going to be 12 weeks of VOSEVI.  Im riding on the Rescue-Salvage train to SVR. Why did the first two treatments fail? I beleave it's because of my old livers cirrhosis. Too many places for the virus to hide in a cirrhotic  liver.

I was always pushing for treatment, but looking back i think even the third treatment may not have worked because of my stiff hard cirrhotic liver.

So it's out with the old, and in with the new (liver that is). My second chance liver is young,in perfect shape And there is no cirrhosis. The VOSEVI will have no problem seeking and distroying  Type 3 HCV  in my system and especially my new liver- no place to hide!!

I started VOSEVI last Tuesday 8-29-17. I take one a day for 12 weeks. I'm taking it every day at 5pm. I'm so grateful for this new liver, and VOSEVI treatment. I will get to SVR this time.   RC
