yea, i agree, let the mr know that this is like chemo , he might understand that better.

when you have a bit of energy, gather together anything he might need for a day or 2 and put it on the counter or table [including the keys]. and let him know you just can't be there for everyone like you used to until you can.

my mr took the harvoni and was a big baby [he over did it everyday doing yardwork and cried every nite]. but he did drink the water.

i worked most of my treatment and rested a lot and took care of myself and let him know that i had the harvoni flu when he pestered me too much. [yea, and he knows how it goes on the harvoni].

i guess cos we look fine we look available....

anyway, hang in there and drink the water, and for sure, hang up the hard work outs for now.

Hey Iris,

Yes the fatigue and fog with both diminish..eventually (and its awesome not to wake up exhausted)biggrin ...But for now dont worry about anything except for taking your meds and taking care of yourself.

Its always difficult for super-mom type people to delegate but it is actually worthwhile for you to try doing that during your treatment when you have family or friends over for dinners etc... as for your Mr....I agree with Tig..sit him down and tell him..the next 3 months are all about you and your healing..and he better do everything in his power to support you...

Gentle walks for a while...major hikes next summer, ok?

A

Hi Iris,

Do yourself a favor, quit googling or reading up on all the “what if’s” right now. It doesn’t help anything and 90% of it is bogus, unless it’s coming from a legitimate source. There’s so much bad information out there. Upsets me when I see how much information being shared isn’t true.

The first few weeks can be daunting on any of these treatments. Do your best to relax, stay home when you can and take care of yourself. Don’t let the stress overwhelm you and that begins too easy when you allow it. Eat well, hydrate like nobody’s business and rest. Take a pass on all the exercise, this isn’t the time for it. Take it up after you’re done. It’s okay to stay active and by active, I mean walking. You had a hard time getting to this point, do your best to finish with flying colors, not worn out! Sit Mr. &#@* down and explain your expectations! He has to realize what it took you to get to this point. That shouldn’t be too much to ask of him, right? I sure hope not!  -jmho-

Try slacking off the water a couple of hours before bedtime and you might be able to cut down on one or two trips to pee at night. As long as you’re getting your intake in over 24 hours, you should be good.

Get a suction cup and put his keys on the bathroom mirror... wink

hi iris , these are strong medicine to cure our virus so there will be some side effects that go along with it.

brain fog and fatigue seem like the main ones. the brain fog comes and goes, the tiredness might be here for the duration and beyond for awhile.Plus your immune system is already working hard to help the magic beans get the job done.

i still don't have stamina like i did but there are 2 things going on. 1. my immune system is prob in overdrive right now repairing damage and making sure the virus stays stopped.

2. recovering from the harvoni takes a little time too.

it's all worth it becos the virus will do worse to us

rest when ever you can to help your body heal itself.

hang in there, it will be over before you know it and you will thank yourself for taking this one day at a time.

Thank you two, I'm sure I shouldn't "feel" much in one day but I felt like Lead weight yesterday. Could be because my daughter and I went on an epic hike on Friday to celebrate her birthday. She was pretty sore too, but she was like dancing up the hill and I was huffing and puffing. We got to a lovely vista that on a clear day we can see all of Los Angeles down to Palos Verdes. Sunday she came over for bbq with the beau and my bro came too. I ended up doing all the work... mr. &%$#@!  was of no help.

I hope I will have a smooth time of this, was just reading some after-treatment posts which so far are scaring the "bleep" out of me. I have terrible brain fog anyway and some of the other stuff, Yikes! I wanted to type something and already forgot, Oh yea...the water thing. I peed 4 times last night.hmm Maybe that is what causes the sleeplessness? LoL   and still not sure if I drank a gallon. 5 Perrier cans at the bbq and 4 full chalices in the day and one more after dinner.

Still super tired Mr. *&^%$ lost his car keys this a.m. and woke me to use mine, had to get out to a breast ultrasound anyway. But I have always woke up exhausted. Will that go away after treatment? Sure would be nice to wake refreshed..

Hooray Iris, welcome to the magic bean club. I so love your wonderful black magic bean chalice. Number one is now already doing battle with those nasty bugs that have been running rampant for way to long. Probably a fitting time for me to fill you in on my original analogy  "Bug Bomb" I initially saw my pill as my huge bug bomb. AS we all know if we have ever been plagued by fleas or some other crawling pests that it takes a lot of these big nasty bug bombs to get rid of the plague.  They can be a little hard to tolerate. If you happen to breath some of it in you may not feel too good for a while. I found it similar when I had to take this huge pill and I may feel a little off at times, but knowing in my heart that I must bear with it as when the air clears this plague will be over.

Over time I began to accept the magic really would be mine and they then became my lifesavers, my magic beans. Feel the magic!

All the best on your journey. Will be sure to follow your Harvani Beans thread.

welcome to the wellness club iris.

that was seethelight who gifted us with that delightful name of 'magic beans'biggrin

i love your magic bean chalice and your poem too...

i think most us had that worry and wonder until the first pill, then the magic takes over.

i always set my pill long way before i washed it down rather than sideways.

yay for you today and all the days to come....

Who ever coined the magic bean thing, Thank You! I'm loving that imagery! Got me some magic beans gonna grow me a new liver!

Past the teeth and over the tongue look out stomach here it comes! (I guess that should read liver!) Wow!... that pill was a very large bugger, for a second it didn't want to go down.

So today is the day... July 1st for 12 weeks. I've had some apprehension about it, the what if's did plague me but I'm trying to put those out of my mind.

I bought me a special chalice to consume the daily bean a very lovely black glass one with a super large filling capacity. I liked the black color, I have it with the idea that this virus will slip in to blackness...into the dark, and be invisible like one is when void of light. To top it off, a sweet deal at the good-will for only 2 dollars!  Let the battle commence!!!

Blessings, Iris
