Hey guys, want to share my joy with you again! The virus continues to be undetected and the best news are, it's 24 weeks for me this time!
Wishing all of you best news on your treatments only!
This past Sunday, I injected Pegasys for the first time in the morning. Sunday was a bit of a drag, but I really felt pretty good on Monday, and the second day after the shot is usually the worst for me. I may have slept through the worst of it. Anybody else dosing in the morning?
Starting treatment next month. Am thinking of taking up drinking water to try to get used to it before I start. How much water do you have to drink a day during treatment? Is a gallon about right? I thought I could get a gallon jug and just fill it up each day and know that when I finished it was had enough....
Does anybody know how long it takes to go from stage 1 to stage 2,3, 4.... The doctor says sometimes it takes 20 years, but then he says sometimes it takes 5 years. I am confused......
My doctor is still not sure if I will only need 24 weeks or the whole 9 yards, because I relapsed last time, but was UND at week 4 this time. He told me he still has to think about what's right for me. I'm just wondering on what information he will make the decision?
My brother is also on treatment and he has been undetectable since week 4. His 24 week viral load tests came back slightly detectable....has anyone experienced this before? I told him to have his doc re-test for possible lab error. thanks, Meghan
Hi all! I haven't been around for a while, but I thought I would give you an update on my Tx. I see a lot of members have joined, so to you I say welcome and all the best on your journey. I completed Tx on July 31st! I ended up doing 26 weeks but still only 24 injections of interferon. My interferon dose was 90 (ha...

At 69 yo, I think I'm the oldest member on the forum. After 17 weeks on triple Rx with Victrelis, I am seriously questioning whether I should have started. My Sx are such that I'm virtually housebound from fatigue. My ability to continue to 48 weeks is uncertain. I am worried that my glucose tolerance ha...
Hello, This my 2d time thru treatment, first was a washout. Now I am half way thru Triple Med tx. So far so good. I have controled the itch (almost no itching this time. Last time I swear I felt like I was vibrating w/itch) Whats the difference: 1. No caffaine, period. Not cut down on caffaine but none. 2....
Had blood test yesterday-ALT/AST have dropped almost in half (60/56) This is the lowest since 2007. Hope this means the virus is calm for the moment. Have been exploring with different foods, supplements etc. so maybe the virus is in "shock" mode... FYI, NOT on treatment
Regardless of the rise in Hepatitis C cases and seemingly related deaths, the prognosis associated with this illness is largely determined by each individual's actions.http://www.hepatitis-central.com/mt/archives/2012/07/getting_real_ab.htmlReferences http://hepatitis-c.emed...
It's official. The Week 36 End of Treatment labs are in the spreadsheet in the signature below. But the big part is VL UND. Long, hard road but apparently worth it. Alan
First post in this area. The last ribavirin just went down the hatch. Didn't hurt a bit. But I am having a little emotional moment, watching the Olympic opening, supper done, finished with treatment. Took next week off work to bask in the warm glow and await the return of feeling good. Ah, free at last. T...
YAY!! I am finished....now time to get back in shape. This woman, Oksana Chusovitina is my new hero...I was a competative gymnast for 13 years and this gal is STILL COMPETING at age 37. This is her 6th olympics, she is a mom, and battled through her son having leukemia. She is my inspiration to get hea...
Only 5 weeks in and I'm burning out on fat foods. It's getting hard to find something with 20 grams to eat at 9 p.m. Nuts aren't agreeing with me. Only so many avocados go down, tried ice cream but it is a little to rich. Cream cheese stuffed salami, tried sweet rolls topped with butter. Got some pre-cook...
I began adding a half hour per day eliptical workout to my routine a couple weeks ago. It occurred to me that during the same time period my skin rash & itch 'potential' have also increased. Just a coincidence, or is there some basis in fact? Has anyone experienced something similiiar...
Has anyone been diagnosed with diabetes as a result of HCV? Okay, I cannot delete this post, or just don't know how if it is possible, but I think I have asked this question in the past. Sorry for repeating myself. I can't even imagine what the brain fog will be like once on treatment, because it is horrib...
Wow! What a relief--still UND! The first 4 weeks have been pretty good. Thinking clearer (most of the time), can spell again, more energy, much better mood--still have moments of left over Riba rage, still tire easily and my hair is continuing to fall out! Overall I cannot complain. Looking back it r...
I am joining the list for one of the following reasons:I live with hepatitis C and cant access treatment. I want those living with hepatitis C to receive high-quality treatment. There appears to be some confusion about cirrhosis. I read posts stating 'Cirrhosis Grade 2 'etc. There are no grades to cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is either compensated , intermediate or decompensated. It is scored using a variety ofclinical and pathology tests, and may be Stage A, B or C ( using the Chil...
