Yesterday, I went out to Renee's house to help her bring some of her stuff (the essentials) out to Eastern Mass. We decided to stay in a hotel last night because my little studio apartment was cramped and very hot (no AC allowed unless I rented it from school for $250 and had them install it for another pr...
Well...Got my 8 week results back. Was hoping for UND. If 99 vl or less...continue treatment. 100 vl or greater...I'm taken off treatment. I was right at 100....so Doc decided to continue another month at least. I'm sure I'll have to be und by the end of july to continue. Still living in the big question...
A few months ago the forum discussed the anemia management by ribaverin dose reductions and how it lowers SVR chance. Later the Mercks article was published that Victrelistrials show that reducing the dose of ribaverin is just as effective for the treatment of anemia as adding EPO (procrit), meani...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/9367001/Safety-warning-over-Britains-most-common-antidepressant.htmlA study for medical regulators found that the drugs increase the risk of heart problems which can cause sudden death. Doctors have been told to lower the maximum dose of the UK’s m...
I just did shot #11, which went to Right inner thigh; being that I am left-handed the view of the syringe was blocked partially by my hand. There was a little bit of Pegasys left in the syringe, is that going to be a problem?
I just read an article about the pharmacutical companies refusing to collaberate in their research for new treatments for Hep c because they want all the profits! This is disgusting! Why isn't our government more active in Hep c awareness and treatment? I am writing the President EVERY DAY until i ge...
I am in my 9th week. Have just been taken off the incivek because it kept lowering my hemoglobin. I have had two transfusions already- 5 units needed. Yesterday I started feeling shortness of breath and I find it scary. Am on 135 interferon and 800 ribavarin.
The S.S. Incivek sailed from Port last week. She's making steady headway toward Cape Peg. No reports of any serious illnesses or medical problems. The crew is complaining about the new rations, 20 grams of fat doesn't sit well with them. The most outspoken is Tiny Stolpa our navigator. He's not tak...
Got my new order of the meds and the Ribavirin pill is a round shape compare to the previous, an oval. I was very upset with the pharmacy that they just substituted my pill with generic crap!
Hi. Three month post VL back and remain undetected. Very grateful. Know it could have gone the other way.
Am sad some on here were not so lucky and I want to say I am thinking of you all.

My husband was recently diagnosed with genotype 1 hep c and has stage 2 liver cyrohsis. He is only 35 and the doctors believe that he contracted hep c from his mother when he was born. We finally decided to start treatment but delayed because we have both been terrified at all we have read about side eff...
Hello Everyone, Treating using Incivik. Got my 4 wk results that read: The result for HCV RNA is below the linear range of the assay which is 15 IU/mL and thus the exact value cannot be calculated. I need some help fully understanding where my body and this virus are at in their battle. I realize the...
I am incredibly grateful for this year that Renee and I have been able to share together. I was reading through some of our earliest e-mails, and I wrote (before we even met in person!) that I was so appreciative of her open discussion about her Hep C. I *usually* carry a first aid kit with me when I trave...
My first week has been an emotional rollercoaster but as far as side effects are concerned I think I have been lucky...my biggest problem is restlessness which I have BIG time this morning since waking up. I had my second injection yesterday lunch time and I thought this stuff was supposed to make you f...
Just read online that Incivek might interfere with birth control pills. Great, no one told me That before... I feel like my own doctor that has to get my own info and treatment. I am taking Lo Estrin, which is a low hormone pill daily, works for now. Anyone on birth control has information on interferenc...
Saw my Doc. today. After my questions he wondered whether I was spending too much time at the Forum. My chief complaint is that we do not have sensitive VL tests here in Oz. The best we can get is <15 TND and I'm probably getting paranoid, but I would rather it was <5. I told him I logged in 2 or 3 times a d...
Hey everybody new member here! I would like to personally thank everybody here for discussing treatment issues. I'm on week 12 of Incivek Triple Treatment, THANK GOD! Undetectable after week 8, awaiting week 12 results. Thank God again! I started this treatment based off information from th...
Hi Folks. New to the forum, but not to Hep C and treatment. I went on the ribavirin/interferon 2 yrs ago only to be taken off 4 months later as my viral load didn't drop below the mandatory threshold count to continue. I attempted treatment again (ribavirin/interferon) 1 year ago with the same results b...
Hello everyone. My hubby David is the one taking the treatment but I am the techie so I am speaking for us. I wasn't sure if this is the right forum as opposed to the caregivers. I have decided to do both.David contracted Hep C from a blood transfusion during surgery after a car accident in 1982. He was diag...
Its been a while since I have been on here but have very recently started on this trial which definitely includes Telaprevir but maybe also the Roche. I have been suffering with terrible anxiety issues in the lead up to this treament but hoped they would sort of go if I started doing sometime about tryin...
No, guys it didnt happen to me (I'm at tw 22) , nor I promote an early discontinuation of tx, but if it does happen to you due to serious sx, hope is still there. Read this intresting diary I've found online http://thehepcexperiment.com/
Well I had my 16 week visit today with my NP. Anemia is looking better and still UND. I got the RA under control as well so I'm guardedly optimistic that the final couple of months will fly by. Thanks for being here folks.
After being taken off of the Incivek 12 days ago, my husbands rash is finally subsiding. Now he is getting water blisters on his hands, not quite as large as a dime. Has anyone heard of this or had this problem? We're not sure whether he needs to be seen again or not. As always, thanks for the help.
Yes so Monday it is. Today I went to meet the doc doing the procedure...asked him all kinds of questions. It will be ultrasound guided and he was really nice. He said my bloodwork looked good and it will be over before I know it. He also said something about me laying on my right side after the procedure......
