Is there anyone out there that is on Incivik and smokes? I am a smoker - not super heavy, but none the least a smoker. I would love to quit before starting treatment, but if it were that easy I would have quit a long time ago. I am going to try again because I am extremely concerned about one of the side effect...
When I called for a refill I was told they now have the autoinjection and I can request it by asking the Dr to change the prescription. Any comments on how it compares to the usual shots?
Does anyone have United Health Care that is currently on treatment? I will start Pegasys, Ribavirin, and Incivek soon and I am wondering about the out of pocket cost.
I was just posting in another topic and thought I would ask if anyone else has had a blood test instead of a liver biopsy that told them they had liver scarring? I have never had a biopsy, but my doctor did some blood test to show if there was scarring on my liver. She explained that I would be between stage 2...
Well--today went & had labs done for the BIG test which I will get the results for next week. So in the meantime--just carrying on with my normal crazy work day--with luncheons, teenagers, classes. And of course I am very tired & have been shivering for days. Always cold. My nurse calls about 4...
I need to have blood work done and the Dr left it up to me to go in to get it done and told me to make an office appt 10 days after taking the test. My 4th shot is friday. That means that 3 weeks have gone by, so next friday after would be shot 5 and that would be the completion of 4 weeks. Do people go in like the follo...

Hello, I am since 19 weeks on treatment and the virus load was zero after 3 months of treatment with Incivo. But last week, I developed a herpes infection on my upperlip, how is that possible ? I thought Ribavirin is effective against any virus multiplication and the Interferon shot is activating...
Hi, I would like to find out some information for my friend Bernadette, she doesn't speak english, so can't post here herself. She is 58 years old, genotypes 1a/1b, early stages of cirrosis, highish viral count. She has done 48 weeks of tx ( pegelated interferon and ribervirin) twice, and was a total n...
I have a vl of 507000 IU/ML. The doc says they have good results with people with my vl levels in just 30 days instead of the full 6 month course of tx. Has anyone had any success with the tx in a short a period of time.
I am almost out of the Incivek woods, and wouldn't you know it? At the last minute the rash and itching, particularly on my upper chest near my neck, is becoming unbearable. Hydrocortisone cream, benadryl and good skin lotion still helps but for a very short time. I cannot wait to say goodbye to this stu...
The CRNP just called to say since I was not UND at 4 weeks they have decided to extend the total regimen to 36 weeks. So I am not half way through. I am one-third of the way through. She was very apologetic, but I told her I had seen similar treatment schedules in the forum, and I was not surprised. Of course, n...
An early clinical trial of a hepatitis C vaccine has shown "promising" results, according to researchers at Oxford University. Designing a vaccine has been difficult as the virus changes its appearance, making it hard to find something to target. Writing in Science Translational Med...
Hello, I am writing in my wife's place to let you know something that just happened to her she is still in hospital in ICU. You may have read a few post from my wife in the last few weeks. We went in Monday to get the simple procedure done and everything went just fine until we had 20 minutes remaining before...
Hello everyone. I am on my last box of pegasys, and sorry I haven't been on much but I have been busy. Recently I got a job as an EMT and I am going to get drug tested. I don't do drugs and I don't drink at all. Can the drugs we are on (right now it's just riba and peg) cause a false positive? Just wondering. It does...
Black Friday was last day for Incivik, last Friday was last day for Interferon, today I will be taking my last riba. I started on 9/3, virus now undetectable, hope follow ups show the same results. I'll be stopping by, but wish you all the best! -- Edited by andrzej on Thursday 16th of February 2012 07...
Just got the results of the blood test that my doctor ordered when they "just wanted to check the results" of the last blood test. The problem was my white cell count is low. Today the results were told to me as "hanging in at 1.8". Looking into this I see the count should be a mini...
Hi - I'm 49 years old and 4 days into treatment: ribasphere, telaprevir, pegasys. Genotype 1B. My concentration is shot, and I feel like I have a constant low-grade flu without the fever. No energy at all. I'm a public defender in Brooklyn, and I go to trial, work arraignment shifts for 8 hours, and...
Hi everyone!! I just had a couple of questions and was wondering if this has happen to anyone else? Last week I blacked out and had a seizure I am on treatment Ribavirin and Interferon. I have had two other sezures before taking this medicine so I don't think this is causing it. I did go to the emergency roo...

Sure I had all those typical sx but when I stopped I started feeling dizzy, short of breath, face & eyes swollen. So th...
