According to a recent CVS study 8.1% of Sovaldi patients have discontinued tx; the total number of CVS patients was 1,965. The clinical trials saw only a 2% discontinuation rate. The article doesn't specify the percentage of those who were also using Interferon vs all orals. Just doing some quick...
Back in February, at our initial meeting with our doctor, hubby was treated right away with S/O. I was told I could wait till October. Was wondering how many others here on the forum are just hanging and waiting, like me...
What great news to hear this morning! Hubby achieved SVR (EOT+14 weeks and UND). He was treatment naive, on Sovaldi & Olysio, and cirrhotic . Minimal side effects. I'm screaming with joy! Thanks for everyone's support here...I'm up next soon! What a way to start a Monday morning! :)
Hello everyone! Have visited the site many times in the last year (after being diagnosed) and found the site/posters to be very informative. Was diagnosed with 2b last year during pre-op testing for thyroid removal due to cancer. My viral load at initial testing was over 5M and it seems I was infect...
I thought it would be great if everybody on Sovaldi + Ribavirin had a single thread to post in. I'm into Week 5 of 24 now. SFV (Stupid Freaking Virus) was undetectable at 2 weeks. Yeah! Do most patients respond this fast? I'll attach two charts that show my labs b4 starting tx, and then at 2 & 4 weeks fo...
Hi everyone. I'm a 64 y/o guy who was an IV drug user in the "60's". In 1998 I was first diagnosed with chronic HCV at a free clinic. I hadn't used a needle in 20 years. My genotype was 1a and my viral load was around 3,600,000. After a long period of self improvement in which I went back to school at...
I did it! SVR!!! Hep C RNA NON DECECTED! Platelets remain low at 73. AST 28 ALT 21. Liver ultrasound 8/14 unremarkable. It's been an anxious wait since my last lab report was EOT in June. Considering I'm cirrhotic AND co-infected with hiv - this is AMAZING!!! I am SO grateful for this forum and e...
Great news... I cried tears of joy! My doc just called said there were no signs of the virus found. I couldn't be happier. I have to say I was prepared for the worst considering the Q80k thing I "had" but the S/O kicked its butt too! I'm so happy right now.. My prayers have been answered!
Thanks for having this forum. Hello Everyone, I was recently diagnosed. I have Genotype 2. Ultrasound came back good, sending me for liver biopsy next. Trying to get on new treatment plan. Any insight to the liver biopsy which sounds scary and the new treatment?

By trade, I'm a computer programmer and I also teach computer programming. One of the first things that a programming student learns is that the output for the program will be no more accurate than the data that is input into it--hence the phrase: Garbage in, Garbage out. Well a few days a go I got a call f...
So this is a rant. I Want to share that from the start so people will be forewarned. It probably sounds childish and whiny, but the fact is I have no one else to be childish and whiny with, lucky you.The first few days of treatment were pretty benign, slight headache after morning dose that only lasted an h...
Yesterday I was out walking on a very public wide path in my city. Lots of people and dogs were out enjoying the evening. A skateboarder comes up behind me and was talking loudly to his friend. I turned and YELLED at him to go to the other side of the path! It just flew out of my mouth with no filter involved....

Any news on the Abvie release? I can stick with kesier or go to Blue cross HMO. Seems Keiser has dropped the ball on treatment for me a few times. Any experience?
Finished Solvadi/Olysio regimen on 7/20/14. HCV was non detectible at 4 weeks as well as 12 weeks. All of my liver functions were normal @12 weeks. They have not been normal since 1973 when I first contracted the disease. The side effects on Solvadi/Olysio were negligible and easily tolerated....
I have to remember to count to at least 200 before opening my mouth and by then I can't remember what it was that wound me up. Which is worse - memory loss or nastiness? I'm keeping a low profile and watching Harry potter which always cheers me up. N
