My husband has totally lost his appetite since starting tx 10 days ago. Any suggestions for the high-fat snacks he's supposed to eat other than the obvious ice cream / cheese / mayo / bacon? He wants the smallest snack possible with the required 20 gr of fat. Thanks for any ideas.
Hi all,I found myself putting together this list for myself, so I thought I would share it here with you too. I am diabetic so eating things like donuts and ice cream doesn't really work for me, hence my own list.Just be sure to check the labels on the food you buy to make sure it contains the same amount of...
I am a non-responder x2. My last bx (biopsy) was approximately one month ago. Bx reveals stage 3. Genotype, of coarse, 1a---gene, CT, of coarse, CC has a much better response than CT. My dilemna-----My insurance is refusing incivek {d/t price difference}. Yet, everything I read indicates that...
Was wondering if there is any info out there on Hep C's effect and or Interferon & Robaviron's effect on other conditions namely any Heart Conditions (Preexisting or possibly caused or worsened by Hep). I was on a blood pressure med to control my heart before starting treatment and had to stop ta...
I can only draw from my personal experience but, my philosophy was to keep my mouth shut about HCV. It's no ones business but mine, I felt. The only person I have ever told I had HVC was my girlfiend, now wife of 6 years. I gave myself shots Friday nights and by Monday I was well enough to go to work and perf...
Hey, I'm at the point where I only have 4 weeks left of treatment. I've had VERY low energy though this. To the point where I can only clean out one drawer (even half of one) and get rid of old things before I get to exhausted to finish. Hello everyone my last shot was march 10th. I waited a bit to post about it becasue I wanted good news to post, and wanted to give myself some time to recover, even though the treatment wasn't overly terrible for me luckily. My fatigue is going away and I am in the gym about 3 times a week and work a full time j...
Vertex, what you are suggesting is illegal, highly irresponsible and is not allowed on here!! These are powerful meds, that should only be used under close medical supervision, not sold on to others who may suffer dangerous side effects. I wish you all the best for SVR. -- Edited by greenqueen on Sund...
Hello All, Well it has been 2 1/2 years since I finished tx and I have maintained a great relationship with the Dr that I had for my tx. I was having a few post tx symptoms that just won"t go away so he felt I was feeling uneasy as to my status of being hcv negative and slipped in a test with my blood work. He...
Hello Everyone, I went to the doctor today, which I thought I was getting my 4 week lab results and he told me he is still waiting on the levels test to determin how much of the virus is in my system. The doctor said that if test comes back more than 1,000 of Hep C is still in my system, he would recommend I st...
I'm just past the 4 month mark, so I'm not on Incivek anymore, Just Peg and Interferon. I've been having crazy headaches and Migraines through the whole treatment but they're getting more often and more painful. I have them atleast 5 days a week and the pain is never fully gone. Does anyone else have thi...
Hoping some of you gurus or otherwise knowledgeable people can tell me if protein (high) is par for course in tx? Was looking online but can't find clear info.
Thanks
I found out today that red blood cell count or whatever is now 8.8, down from 10.2 5 weeks ago. Am decreasing ribavarin from 1000 to 400/day and Pegasys from 180 to 135. I am at 29 1/2 weeks of 48 so I hope I'll be OK. Added bonus- need a breast biopsy! Cross fingers (and toes) please!
Joe has had 2.5 weeks of treatment, the second week, the day after his shot was tougher, more tiredness, etc. - does your body get used to this?, or is this cumlative, making it harder each week. We are also a little confused- he was told this is a 6 month regime, but when he got the written schedule it was f...
I AM UNDETECTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even believe this!!!!!! Oh I am so happy. It will be so much easier to take these nasty meds knowing they are actually working!!!
I am looking for anyone here who has completed a 24-week Telaprevir based treatment who was also placed on a lowered Ribavirin dose at some point. If this is you can you tell me the following: What was your Riba dose lowered from/to? At what week was it lowered? For how many weeks did it stay lowered?...
Hi, I started treatment a week ago. Incivek, peg, ribavirin. It's been a little tuff at times but hanging in. Would like to hear from others doing this treatment....
What is the criteria for who goes 24 or 48 weeks? My Google research indicates that you should be UND at weeks 4 and 12. But I seem to remember someone saying that your baseline VL had to be under a certain level? However I can't seem to find that info now. I've been planning to go the distance as my doc to...
I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. Since being on treatment my skin has lost alot of elasticity. I am only 31 and have stayed out of the sun for a while. I have also noticed many white spots on my forehead. I don't know if all of this is from this treatment, just happened naturally, or i...

Hi - sorry to make it a sort of catch-all title, but some things have come up. I'm type 1B, week 8 on telaprevir, pegasys, and ribavirin. Undetectable in week 4. 1 - I haven't had a biopsy, but based on everything else my Doc things I'm f3-f4 - a good amount of fibrosis, possible cirrhosis. Because of th...
Hi all, Just got a 2 week viral load, done by mistake by the lab. Now on week 3 of Peg and Riba, prior to starting victelis as well next week. Genotype 1b, cirrhotic, pretreatment viral load log 6.1 ( 1, 278,000). After 2 weeks went for usual FBC, E/LFTs, and they did a viral load as well. Very happy to get the...
I would love to talk to someone via chat online real-time, I need to talk about my sides, tx, expectations, everything and I kind of feel like my posts here are out in cyberland!
Brothers and Sisters, I have just gotten back from the doc and reviewed 2 weeks labs. I don't know I might break down, scream, explode, breath, cry or something. In two weeks of trible tx incevik labs went from ~5 million to detectable but <25. After all the years of trying....wow! I am in shock. I kno...
